The theaters aren't as large as I'm used to, so get there early if you want a good seat, or if you're with a big group and you all want to sit together. The screen quality is top notch, the seats are cushy and the attendants at the concession stand are helpful and cheery. Good times all around.

My wife and I love Phipps. The theaters are small, so you have to get there early, but it is worth it. From our observations, Phipps is not a place people drop their kids off - like most mall theaters - so you have a more mature audience. A seemingly little know fact is that you can take food from the nice food court into the theater. We often will bring our dinner into the theater 20-30 minutes before the show starts, get a good seat, and have a great date conversation while waiting for show. Its our favorite place to go to the movies.

I prefer the AMC North Dekalb Mall 16 theater better. We attended a showing of "Open Water" last week, and the projectionist turned off the projection light for the film - yet the music and dialogue was still going for the movie. Patrons were confused: "Is the movie over?" Patrons went looking for management (or the projectionist) when the film "went dead", but there was no one around. After the theater patrons politely asked "What happened?", management still couldn't quite understand what we were telling them. Maybe they were just tired? Many concession items sold out early (hot dogs, for example), and the carbonated soft drinks were syrupy and flat. Ice seemed at a premium, as well. AMC Theaters are my favorite film venues, but I could *never* understand why the ticket office and the theater entry are located on separate floors at Phipps. 'Bad Show" for this prime location.
Pros: Usually nice staffing, Nice size screens, Beautifully decorated
Cons: , Too eager to end film, Concessions lacking

I have never waited in line, by using the touch-tone ticket-buying. The tickets are held up top at the Customer Service table, and they just let you in. I've never missed a movie because i have to wait in line for tickets or the show is sold out!
