A beautiful place to chill out on a blanket or wander through out reading all the Olympic references on the fountains, statues and structures.
nice water fountains. This is a great place to go if you are new to Atlanta, are a tourist or just want somewhere free to relax on a pretty day. The only drawback is limited parking!
Tourist magnet attracts locals looking for a lunch-hour escape or a free outdoor concert..
In Short
A decorative mosaic of grass-green patches and geometric shapes composed in red brick, Centennial Olympic Park is positioned between competing skyscrapers. This well-kept green space is a welcome complement to its urban environs. The Quilt of Remembrance, a memorial to those killed by the 1996 Olympic bombing, is the most notable of the park's artistic adornments. Kids love the liquid summer entertainment--jets of water bursting from the five rings of an Olympic logo, moving to the rhythm of music blasting from the loud speakers. Also during the summer, the park holds free concerts; John Cougar Mellencamp, Indigo Girls and Ray Charles are a few of the free acts that have performed in the past. Continuing festivities year-round, the winter sees holiday light decorations and an outdoor skating rink.
wonderful. great for any invite casual or formal. enjoy the fountains in the summer or the ice skating ring in the winter.
All Season Fun. If you're looking for a place to chill, people-watch, play in the fountains, enjoy some tunes, throw a frisbee, catch some rays - this is the place to be. Spring/Summer, it's a haven for downtown. During the holidays, you can ice skate and enjoy holiday festivities. Best of all, it's free!
A world away from home right at home. The park is wonderful for family outings with the kids or simple picnics for those who are in love. Taking pictures at the park makes you feel as though you've takin a trip to another city for a week long vacation. It a real stress release and it's worth it.
Fun Frolicking. This is the best place to take your children. There's places for them to play, whether they are dry or wet. You can bring your own picnic and there is always something going on. If your family is bored and low on cash, go to Centennial Park. Ample free parking available also
Good place for families. Pretty nice, especially the water landscape areas. Main problem is parking as I see it.
Free Entertainment. Great atmosphere. Monuments are exceptional a real feel for the Olympics. Highly Recommend the dancing fountain
Fun in the sun. This is a great place for family entertainment at it's best.
Convenience. I would have t o say the best thing about the place is its convenience. The concerts are nice and the play area for the kids is nice as well.
