I am not usually a fan of any place with a buffet, but they do a good job here. I happened on this place because it's right across the street from a hotel I am at and we were running late.
Located in a strip center , i walked in and was surprised at how tasteful the decor was, that and I was the only non Indian in the entire place, a good sign for me.
The buffet had all of the usuals and some very authentic vegetarian dishes spread across a 50 ft table...and super clean I might ad.
The curries were very good, as was the Tandori chicken and some kind kind of coconut buttery chicken ( my favorite) . Many other choices and I would say were on the milder side of medium spice...but not to worry, they had a whole slew of hot spices you could add. The service was also very good.. The best part this is only $9.95 on weekdays and $11.95 on weekends.... If you want very good casual Indian, this is a good choice
Hands-down probably the best Indian buffet in Atlanta ... I mean, "Atlanta and surrounding areas" :) It's a drive but it's not bad if there's no traffic on 400. Weekday buffet is $9.95, and weekend buffet is $11.95 (which does have more food).
Buffet is pretty extensive (esp. compared to other Indian buffets) and about runs the length of the restaurant. Everything looks fresh. Lots of vegetarian selections, plus 3 chicken, and 1 goat. My favorites - lemon basmati rice, tandoori chicken, and some kind of creamy curry chicken. I liked that I saw a few unfamiliar dishes, too. Also liked that every dish was labeled - very customer friendly, esp. for newbies. Service was great, too.
Crowd was mostly small groups of Indian & Asian men who looked like they work together. I saw a few eating by themselves, too. Our table of 3 might've been the only female customers.
Their lunch buffet is perfect introduction to someone who hasn't tried Indian food, or someone who thinks they don't like Indian food but maybe they've never had really good Indian food. Their stuff is good. Definitely worth the drive :)
Thanks Zack E for telling me many times to check out their buffet :)
Very good Indian buffet. Wide range of north & south Indian cuisine. Very laid back and relaxed atmosphere.
I consider myself a South-Indian food snob, and I am also on a quest to find the best Vegetarian Biriyani in the United States. I live in New York, and travel to Atlanta for business. I always enjoy the lunch buffet at Krishna Vilas.
During my last trip, in early February, I met the chef here (Saravanan) and mentioned my biriyani quest. He then took that as a personal challenge and made the best vegetable biriyani that I have tasted in the United States. I live in NYC and travel all over the country and have never had a better biriyani.
Hats off to Saravanan and Shri Krishna Vilas. My vote for best vegetable biriyani in the United States is theirs!
They have a huge variety of things: goat curry, chicken tandoori, fried yams, fried onions, butter chicken, mango custard, naan bread, rice pudding, salad, 2 variations of rice, plain rice, squash curry...
It seems like the lunch buffet is really bustling. It was super filled up around 12:45pm, and I kinda like that.
$9.95 for an endless buffet of delicious Indian food.
This place is still very new and is located off exit 11 - Windward Parkway on 400. It's a bit far but since it's a buffet, it isn't so time consuming for an hour lunch. The outside didn't look like it could hold so much until I walked in.
There's two sides to the buffet line because they cater to both vegetarians and carnivores like me. My coworkers have been raving about the butter chicken and that happens to be one of my favorite dishes besides the paneers (which they did not have!) I have to say that it's the best butter chicken I've had since I started eating Indian food 5 years ago.
I didn't care too much for their desserts though. They should have a better selections of such thing as carrot halwa, Seviyan Kheer (vermicelli dessert) etc...
Great place! I'll be back soon :)
This was one of the places that I had been introduced to Indian cuisine- and I am glad that I was able to go there!
There are lots of selections and variety- which is great!
For me though, it is tough to give a buffet 4 stars- but I will tell you this- this is one of the nicer buffets I have eaten at.
I recomend the butter paneer masala and the chicken 65.
Always has plenty of naan on hand too (one of my new favorite food staples!).
This is surely the place I will bring people to who have not been introduced to Indian food.
This Indian chick says - YUMMY! Wow, we have lived in Georgia for 5 years and this is THE BEST place. We drive from Atlanta to satisfy our craving and it is well worth the drive. I will caveat: We come on the weekend for the buffet - may possibly be the best buffet we have tasted. We have gone for dinner and it can get pretty crowded which can make the service a bit slow. The buffet offers a range of Southern Indian delights (such as Pani Puri and Dosas) along with some amazing curry dishes like the butter chicken and chicken curry in coconut sauce. My husband has to roll me out of here because I get so full. We have tried other places in Atlanta, and This. Is. Our. Favorite.
UPDATE: I just called my husband and begged him to drive to Alpharetta to pick up the takeout I just ordered. (The drive is a good 20 miles) Yippee!
Best Indian lunch buffet in and around the Alpharetta area. Love the quality and selection of foods and all the Indian nationals from the office give it a thumbs up. We eat there at least once a week.
Firstly, I know nothing of Indian food, except for the fact that it tastes so good. I've been to only a few Indian places in my life but damn, this place is tops. The things I like the most are: the yogurt (it has like cucumbers, cilantro, and tomato in it). Sounds weird, but so so so so good. And they have like this vegetable and beans and rice? or potato? something that is like creamy .....I'll stop here because i sound ignorant, BUT just know that it is SO GOOOD.
