We've ordered the burgers from here a few times and have always been satisfied! Until when we decided to order the burgers the day after Thanksgiving and I ended up with Food poisoning... Will never order from here again..
Great place. I have been to many bars, but they have the coldest beer. Great food, not like most bars
Gone Downhill Fast – When Diggers first opened in Suwanee it was consistently packed. We went for dinner or drinks at least once a week. There has been a steady decline in service over the last six months which, I assume, is the reason the restaurant is now empty and the only people in the bar seem to be regulars sitting around the bar yelling back and forth to one another.
I took clients to Diggers over the holidays and racked up bar bills totalling $520 over two visits. Diggers offered a reward card offering one point for each dollar spent and a $20 reward after each 200 points was accumulated. When I returned last week I was told that the system was being re-worked and the points were not available. Sounds like a bit of a scam to me.
This was the first time in months I had been back with my family for dinner. We will not be returning. Their new policy of charging for additional salad dressing or salsa combined with the poor service and attitude of management and the decline of atmosphere makes me think that Diggers will close soon.
I can only assume that there is new management or ownership since the original staff seems to be gone and the decline of the restaurant has happened so quickly.
Diggers impressed me! – This was a great change Digger's crew! We used to eat at the old Diggers but stopped going because it wasn't all there for a family. The new one is right on the money and my family will now be regulars as we pass it on the way to tennis and soccer! We were hesitant to try it again and when our server, Chanel, asked if we were interested in the Diggs Club Card (which you should get) we had originally said no. But after our food came out and we had experienced the great service she gave to our family, we asked to sign up. She made sure we never had to ask for refills, was great with our little one, packed up our leftovers for us, and made sure we enjoyed everything. 5 star service without the price! We were pleasantly surprised with everything. This is a must try. Food, Service, Price, and Atmosphere was right on the money! Thank you Diggers!
Will not return... – I work about 3 miles from Diggers in Suwanee and have visited 15 times in the last 6 months. Considering I travel away from Suwanee every other week, this means I am generally there at least once per week while in-town. While it is pricey for a lunch, the food and service has generally made it worth it. Per my credit card statements (thank you, mint dot com), I have spent $277.46 at Diggers. As of 7/1/2011, I will not be returning.
Party of three, two ordered the special (apple sauce grilled chicken with broccoli) and one ordered a grilled chicken meal that has generally been quite tasty. All 3 meals were overcooked and not flavored nearly as well as normal. The two specials were sent back and we were charged for the salads and broccoli (even though we only got to eat one stem before they were taken away). Thus, we paid $7.50 + tip for a side salad. The 3rd meal was equally overcooked and lacking of the flavor that is normally there, but I was hungry so I ate and paid for it (after complaining to the waiter). We sat there waiting for the manager to come talk to us, which never happened. I could tell the waiter was new so I was not too upset with him specifically (even though he never apologized when bringing us the check) - obviously they need to work on training their waiters on how to handle these situations.
After we paid I went to the bar and asked to see the manager. The bartender said "sure" and then continued to count money in her register, clean off a table, and check-out a customer - all while I stood there. Realizing she had no intention to go get the manager, I walked into the kitchen, myself.
The manager was leaning over the counter and looked back at me. I asked to see the manager and he let me know that was him. He did not turn around to talk to me or seem to care in the least that I was there. I began to explain the situation and he said, "did April* come talk to you?" I alerted him that April did not come talk to us and that is why I had to come find him for myself.
During my conversation I alerted him that we are regulars and generally love the food, I just wanted to let him know that something was way off that day. I had already paid so I obviously wasn't looking to get something for free. His response to me was, "well at least we know it was an unusual thing - so that's good." Excuse me? A customer just had a bad experience and you tell him that it is all good because it is unusual? My coworkers and I (average $70/lunch there total) will not be returning.
In this down economy, restaurant owners will need to realize that customer service is even more important than the food.
* I think April was the name, not certain. I wonder if the bartender that ignored me was April.
Welcome to the neighborhood! – Wow! That is all I can say. What a great place to visit. The food is amazing, the Prime Rib Sandwich is beyond words! Service was great, and the restaurant itself is awesome. Keeping the bar seperate from the family dining room was a great idea. A T.V. in the Men's Room? What? Huge prtions, great prices, friendly staff, and unbelievable food, the perfect combination. See you again soon!
