AWEFUL!. The only reason I have to give AMW 1 star, is for a few of their leasing agents: Sean and Robert, otherwise, the management is horrible! I lived in AMW for almost 1.5 years and in that time, I have had multiple complaints about noise. Of the numerous times I would call the complex courtesy officer, only twice of the maybe 5 times I called to complain about the noise did the noise desist. Also, after making several complaints to the leasing office about the noise, never was my issue taken seriously so eventually I had to take matters into my own hands and call the Atlanta Police Department to handle the noise matter. Not only are the inhabitants of AMW mainly students who are loud and obnoxious but there is constant smell of marijuana in the halls, that occasionally got into my apartment. There were several issues of cars being broken into as well as locker spaces. BUT WAIT!! the worst part, *** I WARN THOSE LIVING AT AMW*** MAKE SURE YOU DO YOUR FINAL WALK THROUGH WITH A LEASING AGENT AND GET ALL FINAL JUDGEMENT IN WRITING!!! After a couple of unsettling incidences at AMW, I was SOOOO happy to finally be getting out of there, overall the complex great in that everything was new and the pool and exercise facility awesome, but upon leaving, I had done a final walk through WITH a leasing agent, I was told everything looks like normal wear and tear and when I asked for documentation of that statement, I was told it was "ok," and that we were free to go. 1 month later, I received a statement in the mail stating I owe AMW almost $600. It was written on a very UN-official document, with little explanation as to what all of their abbreviations meant with promise that if the amount in full was not paid by a month, that the amount due would go into collections. Overall the charges stemmed from "carpet damage" as well as a water usage amount that was "not paid." LET ME JUST SAY that I spent a good deal of time calling the leasing office to make sure 1 month prior to my move out that I pay the full amount due of the prorated amount left for the final month, including a FULL month's of trash service and sewage fees as well as a prorated water use, even though I was only there the final month for 14 days. I called about both issues of carpet and "unpaid amount" to speak to the manager and was told she was out at lunch or would call me back. I didn't get a response the Thursday and Friday I had called and when I called back the following Monday, I got an e-mail, NO CALL, just an e-mail stating that even though I did a final walk-through with a leasing agent, that that was just a "preliminary walk-through." I don't know about you guys, but I have NEVER in my 4 times of moving out of different complexes heard of a "preliminary walk-through." After multiple e-mails back and forth (NO CALL was ever given to me, event though I requested her to call) and myself stating that I WILL NOT be held responsible for anything past my final walk-through as I do not know who was in and out of the apartment after I gave up my keys, the manager finally decided to drop all amounts due, including the so called "water" past charges. THIS SHOWS ME THAT AMW is trying to scam people out of their money, LET ME ALSO STATE that in my almost 1.5 years at AMW, I noticed everyone who moved out, all the carpets were replaced immediately!! Therefore, leads me to conclude that AMW will replace all carpet no matter what, but try to get the previous residents to pay for it. I am a very clean person and with a potty trained dog, I paid the $300 non-refundable pet deposit and AMW still tried to make me pay for so-called "carpet damages," DO NOT LET AMW do this to you!! Legally, after you do a final inspection and everything comes out clear, you have been legally released of all liability of the apartment from there on. AMW will pray on those who are unaware of their rights and the law, do NOT let them get away with it!
