So happy it's reopened!. We used to love 57th and were sad when it closed. We are thrilled it's reopened, and so happy to know that there is a place we can go in the evening where we can enjoy a warm spring evening on a patio without children running around everywhere.

Thanks to 57th for this inspired idea -- it will keep us coming back!

Great Date Spot!. We finally made it out to the 57th Fighter Group Restaurant the other night and loved it. We got there an hour before our reservation so that we could chill outside at the bar area and sip on martinis. The restaurant itself was so cool and the people were incredibly friendly. I got the Sea bass and it was cooked perfectly. I'll definitely be back-- I hear they have the best brunch in Atlanta.

NOT, NOT, NOT Family Friendly!!. When 57th Fighter Group reopened, I was very excited to take advantage of the great patio. On the first sunny Friday of spring, I planned to meet a group of friends on the patio with our kids. We were promptly told (very rudely) by the Manager that the patio was closed to children after 5:00. They even made families that were already seated and eating get up and go inside! Let's be clear, there was no line waiting to get in. There were only 2 - 3 other tables seated at a time when every other restaurant patio in the area was completely packed.

Inside was not much better. The new ownership has made no effort to make any improvements to a very classic, but very old restaurant. The carpet is dirty and thread-bared. The pictures on the wall covered in cobwebs.

Given this restaurant has struggled over the years with multiple ownerships and is settled in the middle of a very family oriented neighborhood, I unfortunately foresee another closure in the very near future. What a shame!

We are sorry you were not pleased with you dining experience. We only ask that children stay seated while on the patio for their safety and the overall enjoyment for our other guests. We have never asked anyone to move while they were in the middle of dining. I apologize that you misunderstood our intentions.

Great Food & Atmosphere. We went to the 57th for our anniversary and were not disappointed. The restaurant is very cozy and views the airfield, so you can have dinner and watch planes come in and out. The service was impeccable, our waiter Ken was fantastic.

The food was excellent and reasonably priced. The Beer soup is not to be missed! The Blue Cheese stuffed Sirloin was very tasty. Our dinner with leisurely, we were never rushed. We spent the whole evening there and closed the place down. We definitely plan to return.

Great place for a date. My date and I heard from friends that the 57th had reopened, and we just had to check it out. The interior is just as it was before, nostalgic and cozy. We started off with the crabcakes as an appetizer and they were great! And you know you have to have their beer cheese soup (which we did, and you only need a cup)...another winner there...yum! We each decided to have a Grey Goose martini, (which they do very well also) and split a Grilled Romaine salad....yes grilled...what a cool way to add texture and taste.....I will have to try this at home!!! Dinner was challenge for us...we could not decide amoungst the many offerings...our server suggested the Sea Bass with the gouda chesse grits...so we ordered it (it was awesome!!!!) and the Bleu Cheese stuffed sirloin....OMG! it was out of this world!!! The blackberry reduction served with the steak is just to die for! ( I wanted to lick my plate!!!) The service was very nice, attentive and friendly. Needless to say, we were stuffed when it came to dessert. So we will have to try some next time. Our server mentioned that the Sunday Champagne Brunch was back......and hmmmmm, now I can't wait to come back for brunch!!!!

Perfect for a special occasion Sunday brunch. After having closed down for a number of years, this renovated Atlanta landmark reopened in 2009. My wife and I had our first experience at the new 57th Restaurant for a lovely Valentine's Day Sunday Brunch, and it did not disappoint.

Saying there is no other restaurant like it in the city is a great understatement. The unique World War II era atmosphere and view of the PDK runway alone make 57th worth a trip, and the brunch buffet is simply outstanding. At $25 a head, I had high expectations going in and left without an ounce of regret. Highlights include an omelet chef, a belgian waffle chef, and a bananas foster chef to satisfy your sweet tooth. The meats from the carving station and award winning beer cheese soup are also superb. Champagne and/or mimosas are also included (after 12:30pm by law).

I've often found that themey restaurants like this tend to underachieve on the culinary side, but this is not the case at 57th - at least for brunch. I've yet to sample from the standard lunch or dinner menus, but I plan to.
