Sweet cupcakes, sour staff – My friend came into town from Chicago and had bought a groupon certificate for Sweet pockets so we drove about 25 mintues to pick out our goodies. We were completely ingnored by the staff when we arrived. Neither girl even looked up (one was on the phone and the other on the computer) to let us know they would be with us as soon as possible. It was several minutes we were left standing at the counter, completely ignored. Had my friend not had the certificate, we would have just walked out. I don't do well with rude shopkeepers, and this qualified as rude in my book. When the girl finally got off the phone, we tried to order the red velvet variety (there were plenty in the case) only to be told she had just sold ALL of them to the person on the phone. So, we then tried to order the Starlight variety. Again, sold ALL of them to the person on the phone. My friend ended up getting 4 other kinds and I got none. No apologies from the girl behind the counter, and just to mention, this happend at 1:00 and this store stays open until 6:00. I feel like they should be better prepared so they don't run out of anything that early in the day. I really wanted to like this place, but given the distance I have to drive to get there, and the lack of customer service, I will not be back.
Good Cupcakes, but service leaves bad taste in your mouth! – I thought that I would give Sweet Pockets a second chance because of the convenience (and the cupcakes are good), but alas, I was greeted with the same poor service that I have encountered every time I have entered the store. Upon my first visit, the order was wrong and the sales person offered absolutely no resolution which was aggravating. Despite this, I tried again because I live in the area, and it would make me happy to support a local business - but Sweet Pockets couldn't seem to care less. The staff doesn't seem excited to have the business, and make no effort to create a friendly atmosphere. I suppose that works out well for them...because they certainly don't deserve it.
Deliciousness reigns supreme at this cupcakery, boasting flavors like lemon sunshine and almond sweetheart. – In Short
The cupcake craze that hit Chicago so hard a few years back continues its southward march. Sweet Pockets rode in on the first wave with a homely Inman Park location back n November '06. The desserter's dream became famous for cutely-named treats--Happy Monkey (banana and peanut butter frosting) and Raz Taz (chocolate and raspberry)--that sounded even better after the first bite. And no matter if you came in for one Strawberry Wawa or 150 for a wedding reception, the staff treated you like a confectionary king. Though it's relocated from downtown Atlanta to downtown Vinings, the bakery's sweet smells haven't changed a bit
