The Porter carries craft beer from around the world and features a lengthy selection of hard to find beers on their vintage list. The Porter will host a Terrapin beer dinner during American Craft Beer Week!

Best beer bar food ever; chef driven food that changes daily...oh and they have one of the best beer selections in town!

Spot on beer bar for L5P. There are so many things to like about the Porter. The heady beer list, the greasy-good double cheeseburger, the cool decor with vintage luggage on display. But the one thing that gets me every time I go to the Porter is the salt & vinegar popcorn. It cost like $3, and it comes in a massive, silver bowl. Perfect for sharing with the table as an app, or as an afternoon snack with beer-swilling companion. And salt & vinegar might seem a little bit strange on the surface, but it's just the right amount of salty, tart and fluffy. It has the zing that's typically reserved for NC-style barbecue sauce, a thin vinegar based sauce that seems to get more crave-worthy as you eat it. Now maybe because NC-style is my favorite type of 'cue and any salad dressing with vinegar in it is automatically my favorite... but this is one of my favorite appetizers in the city. Don't be scared, it's delish.

A wonderful beer bar in the heart of Little Five. Parked right in the middle of the Little Five Points shopping district, The Porter provides beer-o-philes a wonderful place to call home. High gravities, hard-to-find Belgian and German brews, and even American craft beers can be found on a stout (pun intended) beer list pared with wonderful dining selections. Those who are equally as choosy with their food as they are with their drink will be pleased to find immaculate mac n' cheese, burgers, barbecue sandwiches, and even a choice salad on the menu. I haven't found an item i didn't love and the service is spot on - knowledgeable and patient. It gets a bit crowded during peak times (weekends, holidays, etc.) so it is preferable to get on the list and snag a table to have some elbow room. Parking can be tough, but you should be car pooling with a DD anyway, right?
