Mediocre Dogs, Rude Policemen, Bad Directions.
This is a review our our recent trip to Coolray Field, Friday, April 29, 2011
Pros:
The ball game was great (except the Braves lost). The ball park was very nice. The fireworks were outstanding.
Cons:
The directions for parking were incorrect. There is a sign that directs East boung incoming ballgame traffic down Tech Center Drive for access to parking. On Friday night, the sign was on, but there was no access and the special duty policeman, was directing everyone to make a u-turn back towards Buford Drive to get back in line.
My wife and I both got a hot dog that was simply inedible (at about 7:15PM). The bun was stale and hard, and the the dog itself was tough and difficult to chew. They were bad, and we were hungry.
My Daughter and son-in-law were behind us in line. The parking lot closed shortly after we arrived, even though there were empty spots available. They could not get the attention of the traffic policeman, they were ignored. They ended up parking (for the $5 fee) in one of the businesses on Tech Center Drive and walking with our grandkids.
Would I go again? Yes
But I would sneak my own snacks.
Bored in the Burbs? Go to a braves game.
The Atlanta Braves Triple A affiliate Gwinnett braves are in there second season on Coolray Field at the north Gwinnett location off of Buford drive in Buford ga. This location is easily accesable from Interstate 85 and Highway 316. The parking is less than 5 dollars and tickets less than 10. Dollar beer nights usually attract the local crowd.
If you are a baseball fan or just a fan of getting out of the house and dont want to drive down to Turner Field i would deffinitely recommend checking out the future stars of baseball in this new state of the art (as far as minor league stadiums are concerned) stadium.
