Atlanta >Pearl The Bistro & Bar Llc
IF YOU ARE AN ATTRACTIVE WOMAN STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!. My girlfriend and I went here last night and it was simply HORRIBLE!!!!! We sit down and the bar that was close to the kitchen where 2 female's were bartending. WE WERE NEVER GREATED WHEN WE SAT DOWN...After about 5 minutes we asked for a menu. The waitress gave us one w/out saying one word. Mind you the 2 of them were steady taking shots w/the male patrons and booty dancing off of all the songs. After saying excuse me a dozen times to the both of them finally she turns around and we place an order.....we place the order and still was never asked was everything ok. Finally our food ocmes out and guess what?? The waitress never gave us any silverware. We had to again ask her for that....but, had to get her attention from all the shots the 2 of them were taking and the partying they were doing. Finally get the silverware and now, we need ketchup. Another few minutes trying to get her attention to get catchup.....Finally enough was enough. We spoke to the Manager Mike who gave us some complimentary drinks. My feeling was he must had said something to the both of them...because 15 minutes later SARCASTICALLY WE WERE ASKED IS EVERYTHING OK!!!! I DON'T KNOW WE HAVE ONLY BEEN HERE FOR AN HOUR WITHOUT EVEN BEING ACKNOWLEDGE. So, we figured it out. We didnt fit the bill of the Pearl, OLD, WASHED UP, NON-TRENDY, TYPICAL PPL. WE BY FAR WERE CLASSY, LOOKED GREAT....and what ashame to BE TREATED THIS WAY!! I WILL NEVER, EVER, EVER, GO BACK!! I SUGGEST IF YOU ARE A GREAT LOOKING WOMAN STAY CLEAR!! IT'S NOT WORTH THE HEADACHE...THE BARTENDERS AT THIS PLACE SUCK!!!!!!!
The WORST "Upscale" Hole-In-The-Wall!!!.
The Pearl Bistro & Bar is by far the WORST so-called “upscale” establishment ANYWHERE in the metro Atlanta area. On Friday, February 18, 2011, my husband, sister, friends and I went out to see Rose Royce. When we walk in, we were IMMEDIATELY accosted by the strongest smell of MILDEW mixed with smoke! The place has the stench of “old house” dampness, grease, body funk/sweat and stale cigarette smoke. As a whole this building is absolutely HORRIBLE and should be demolished!!!!!! I am sure it is some kind of health hazard!! The staff was rude and extremely unprofessional. The only person that appeared to have any sense of decorum was the man at the ticket/payment window when you first arrive. He was rude, but with a professional twist (if you can imagine that.)
When we entered we thought we would be shown to our RESERVED table. Instead we were told to “find one”. When we did try to select one of the FIVE that were available near the dance floor/stage, we were told we could not sit there, then shown a table in the very front of the club (far from the dance floor/stage). The room where we were seated smelled particularly bad and everyone in there was smoking which only made it worse. After waiting nearly 20 minutes, our waiter finally showed up complaining about how hard they were working him. While talking to us, he casually sneezed into his open hand then wiped it on the serving towel hanging from his side. EWWWWW!! I gladly gave him some hand sanitizer. He took our drink order. 20 minutes later he returned with mine and my husband’s water (not the way I requested it) and something other than what my sister ordered. She went to the bar only to find they do not carry what she ordered (they were just going to give her what they wanted her to have!!) Our waiter finally came back and took our food order THREE TIMES!! At this point we were so disgusted we decided to leave and just go to dinner. Instead of just walking out, we told them we were leaving as courtesy, (though they did not deserve it!!) The waiter actually went off on us…profanity and all. We were practically held hostage by some little ghetto alley cat, who refused to allow us to leave unless we spoke with a manager. She actually went to the officer on duty to get him to block us from leaving (WTF?!?!?) The “manager” finally appeared and wanted a detailed explanation of why we were leaving. (When did this become necessary or rule?) After telling him MOST of the atrocities we had experienced, he actually got mad and asked us to leave (HUH?!?!?)
We will NEVER again patronize this establish even if God Himself were going to be there!! It is a sad time when substandard, below-par service is the norm and WE as a community not only accept it, but CONTINUALLY spend our hard earned money to get it.
In a nutshell, if you want that “upscale” hole-in-the-wall feel…go to THE PEARL BISTRO & BAR!!! If I could rate them a -5 stars I would!!!!!!!!
Terrible Service/Not-Special "Specials".
I went to the Pearl for a comedy night. The comedy was fun, not totally my speed, but pretty good and the headliner was Very Good.
I ordered the appetizer special. It was half a chicken for $5.00. I thought I'd misread, but my waitress assured me that the $5.00 did indeed purchase a thigh, leg, breast, and wing. I also got an order of fries. Guess how much they were. No seriously, guess?
Is that what you guessed, because I never would have guessed that. Not ever.
I ordered fried chicken, because that seems like it would be hard to scew up. Thank you Pearl for proving me wrong.
The chicken tasted old, as if it had thawed and frozen to the bottom of the freezer again. I let my waitress know after I picked over it and my friends thought it looked to terrible to sample it (so I could get a second opinion). The waitress was completely unsympathetic. She shrugged, said "Okay." and cleared the full plate of half a chicken.
It turns out the reason she was indifferent, failing to refill drinks, failing to check in in anyway after the first fifteen minutes, is because gratuity was automatic! For a party of 3! Terrible server, absolutely awful.
So, I paid $12.00 and left starving. The fries tasted fine, but they weren't enough. Specials are supposed to be good, cost-effective, and designed to make customers want to come back. All it did was make me think they use customers as garabage disposals. Blech.
