If You Love Your Pets, Don't Go Here!!. We have had the Banfield health plan for all of our animals for several years and have liked it. We used to go to the Banfield in the town we used to live in and had a great experience, perhaps that's why this is such a disappointment.

Besides the long wait times and unfriendly staff, the latest error committed by the folks at this Banfield could cost the life of our precious kitty.

He had blood work done 3 weeks ago that showed high kidney enzymes and even though they said they'd call if the results were not normal they didn't and therefore our cat is very sick. This is AFTER our other cat had a Urinary Tract Infection and we suspected that this cat did as well. I told them that and they said they couldn't test his urine until they put him asleep on his next appt 6 weeks after the initial appt. where they did the blood work.

Now the cat has to be on fluids via IV for 3 days in a row and antibiotics in hopes that his kidneys will start to work properly again.

Needless to say, we'll never go back to this vet!!

Worst experience with a vet appt ever!!! STAY AWAY. This was the absolute worst experience my family and I have ever had at a vet appt. My daughter and I brought my daughters cats toThe Banfield Pet Hospital on Ponce De Leon at their Atlanta GA location. We had a 9 am appointment, but weren't seen at 12:15.

To start off the appt we were greeted by the reception folks who tried to sell me and my daughter their extremely expensive Pet insurance that they carry. We declined, but they weren't taking NO for an answer we were bullied by the staff and vet at least four more times during our hellish experience there. They tried pushing vaccinations and test that I KNOW were not necessary. And on top of that, the vet that we FINALLY got to see three hours late, was extremely rude.

How a place like this stays in business I'll never know. So believe all these negative reviews! STAY AWAY.

STAY AWAY- FAR AWAY. Believe everything you read about how bad this place is. If you care about your pet, never take them to this place!

The pet insurance is a fraud. The clinic will try to bill you for services that are included in the plan. If you try to cancel, they will charge you either a $200 fee or try to make you pay for services at 3 times the going rates.

The doctors will perform exams by ESP and NEVER see your animal, perscribe medications without examinations and will try to bill you for vacines that are included.

Again, stay away! You will be sorry if you don't. I was!

DO NOT FALL FOR THIS TRAP.. They act like you are saving so much money on their wellness plan. This plan and company is a complete disaster. They are unprofessional, rude, ignorant, and thieves. They charge extra for everything that is "covered on your wellness plan" and there is ALWAYS some kind of fee. Every time you come in, you are talked down to by rude ignorant people who do not know proper English (MIDTOWN ATLANTA).

The wellness plan covers ONLY 2 free visits for a year. 2!!!! and I am paying 20$ a month!!! The first time we took our dog was when his eyes swelled up and Banfield said he had to stay over the night. WHICH COSTS EVEN MORE! In the end they gave him a regular type of asprin... they charged us 20$$$ to get ONE asprin to give to him at home.

They continued the wellness plan without notifying me at all, and I was unable to cancel it.

I read many comments about people having trouble canceling and Banfield continuing to charge the card.

PLUS- my husband and I are on the plan. They said that only his name is on it. WHEN THE CREDIT CARD IS IN MY NAME. and they did not want to speak to me at all.

COMPLETE BS. I am so upset right now bc I am having to deal with this... as we speak.

I would NEVER recommend Banfield in any state anywhere. Save yourself the trouble and look for your pets health care elsewhere.

WARNING- STAY AWAY!. Bought the pet insurance, shots included. Brought my dog in and they tryied to charge me for the shots that are included. Additionally, Dr. Freshwater, wrote orders on my dog without even seeing the animal.

Once confronted, they are backing down and offering to pay for the shots. TRUST ME! Don't go to this vet if you love your dog!

AWFUL experience. Unfortunately, I have to agree with the previous two reviews. I have tried to go to Banfield for about 5 years now because the location is convenient for me. I have been severely dissapointed many, many times, and I have finally had it. I would rather drive half an hour to another vet than deal with their horrific customer service and lack of customer care again. I brought my dog in recently for shots and possible spaying. The front desk women were incredibly rude and actually condescending. I never saw an actual veterinarian and didn't get to ask a vet the questions I had about my dog. You will only see a "pet nurse" if you go here. Also, after waiting about an hour and a half for my dog to get some simple shots, I was told I had to wait another half an hour to be checked out because the doctor hadn't written up some notes yet. The whole horrible ordeal lasted about 2 hours and I NEVER SAW THE VET. This is only one of many, many horrible customer service experiences I have had there. I have finally decided to go elsewhere despite the inconvenience. They definitely do not put pets or customers first. If you want someone to be really rude and condescending to you, with below par vet care, then this is the place for you -- otherwise, save your time and money and go elsewhere.

The staff is RUDE!!!!!. I called to make an appointment for my cat to get tested for a UTI. When I asked how much the office visit and test were gonna be I got a RUDE lecture about how I shouldn't be concerned with money because if I dont bring my cat in to get tested it may lead to worse problems. REALLY!!! She treated me like if the test were too expensive, then I was just going to let my poor kitty suffer.

First of all I am worried about my cat and to get treated in such a way where I am made to feel like I am the worst possible pet owner in the world for asking how much a test was going to cost really upset me and then after that, I get transfered to the receptionist who sounded as though I was bothering her by trying to make an appointment. Needless to say I will not be taking my cat there to get testing at Banfield on Ponce. awful awful place to take your pets!

Worst vet ever.... This place is the pits. The vet-tech's are nice enough, but I've been going there on an overpriced "wellness plan" for months and have yet to meet the actual veterinarian. The staff is slow, appointments are useless, and they try to nickle and dime me every time I come in. They have an excuse for everything and are just plain unreasonable. Animals cost money, but come on ~ they don't cost THAT much. It shouldn't be a terrible expense going to the vet, but they've figured out how to ruin the experience. It's worth it to go to a smaller, personal vet if you're going to pay as much as this place to get absolutely nothing in return.
