Terrible Service!. Ok so let me start off by saying, you get what you pay for!!!!! I went to the Buckhead location and a stylist by the name of JaKeyria Jackson was my stylist. The customer service is good, however that is not what the only thing that matters. I got a sew in, and it started to fall apart the next day. Not only were the threads loose as hell, but the way she styled it was horrible. I showed her a few examples of what I wanted and my hair is similair to none of the pictures. If you want to look like who done it and why, then yes by all means go to THE 50 DOLLAR WEAVE SHOP!!!!
UN-be- Weavable!!. I visited the Garden City Michigan location on this past Saturday! I was totally displeased! As I sat there and observed the patrons as they left I was very leary...I had a conversation with one of the clients while waiting and she told me that this was her 3rd time coming and she was very pleased so I decided to stay. (Bad Idea)!!! I must admit that she was the only one who's hair turned out decent. That's 1 out of 10!! First of all I spent over a hundred dollars on my hair and decided to go with their "platinum" service. What a total waste of money!!!! 50 DOLLAR SEW-IN! that's correct you get exactly what you pay for!!! You're better off allowing your homegirl hook you up in her basement! If you have ever had a Professional sew-in, done by a professional! this is not the place for you. You will be totally dissatisfied! OK, starting with the braids, I believe all together I had 6 big braids two on each side and two in the back. Once the hair was sewn in there was no way I could pull it up. The tracks were space too far apart, you could see each braid and track. Not to mention the "closure was horrible! Several of my tracks in the top were exposed. The was absolutely nothing I could do to make it work. I was in Michigan for the holiday and I had to drive 5 hours home. After sitting in the salon for 6 hours there was no where else I could go. So unfortunately I had to have it removed after only having it in overnight.
Michigan's EJefferson. I recently went to the Michigan Location on EJefferson they were the worse hair dressers I have ever seen in my life. I sat there from 9-4pm and still did not get my hair done. The ladies there do not care about their work the customers were leaving out with their hair looking worse than what it did when they walked in. There is one ladt there by the name Jessica who needs to find a new profession IMMEDIATELY she doen NOT know how to use flat irons and can not sew hair in. The shop needs to get rid of ALL the employess and re-hire. To play in someones hair is not good for business cause thats exactly what they doing playing in people's hair
GREAT WEAVE AT VELVETY FINISH. Great concept for me.I could make an early morning appt.& get to work on time.Yes the $50 was for new customers but I still paid a fair amt. for what I received.I never waited but their were times when Cookie waited on me.I like the salon because not all that crazy gossip like other salons I had visited.I did recommend my friends & they were pleased!Life is a give & take but I felt I took a nice hair weave from the salon!
Deception At Velvety.
Was thinking about going to this salon...but thanks for the heads up. Additionally, if you looking at the craigslist post Shenipa is an employee of Velvet. I goggled the salon name and this review sight popped up. I was so surprised to see Shenipa was leaving comments as if she was a client. When from her email address on craiglist,
SHENIPA FRAZEIR" <velvetyfinishsalon@****.co*
She is clearly an employee. If you have to deceive to get clients at velvety, I will not walk away---I will run.
PLEASURE. IT'S A REAL PLEASURE TO HAVE MRS. COOKIE TO DO MY HAIR. SHE IS A GREAT HAIR STYLIST, AND I WOULD NOT GO TO ANYONE ELSE. I AM HIGHLY PLEASED. I GET LOTS OF COMPLIMENTS FRON EVERYONE. AGAIN SHE IS THE GREATEST.
Best Voted Salon in Atlanta with great personalites and great atmosphere.. I highly recommend Velvety Finish Salon. I received a great weave. They styled my hair and cut it in layers . I wanted krimps but was to cheap to pay for it. You get what you pay for and I honestly couldn't afford it. If you go to Velvety Finish ask for Cookie. Yes she is still there. They conditioned my hair with a reconstructor and remoisturizer. The great feel that we all are looking for. A great place for a Great Price. Highly recommended. Some expcet to pay a little and get everything but if you buy cheap hair it isn't going to look like a stars. So buy great hair and let them do their job. They are the best in the atl. They have moved to a better location 2481 Sullivan Rd, College Park, Ga. Off of Old National Hwy. A beautiful purple place inside and relaxing.
Did I ask for a wig or a sew-in?. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE. I dont even know why I gave it a star. They did my hair for my 18th birthday and it was horrible. It looked like I had on a wig..$50 is not worth it...
$50 weave NO CUT and STYLE.
I love the $50; however, I feel a little jipped. They advertised full sew-in, which is true. They advertised CUT and STYLE, which is FALSE. Once you are in the chair, they may say, "We only do long layers, if you want a full cut and style, you will have to pay an extra $20". I really feel like they may as well adverrtise the $70, because you can hardly see the layers, and they leave the weave looking lame and borinng. I have to admit, I have been to the salon twice, and may go again, unless I find a better deal. But I know how to cut and style my own hair; otherwise, I definitely would not go back. Cookie is the best "weav-ist", but I heard she no longer does hair.
The location is great for me, but I was very scared on my first visit--the building/commercial complex looked abandoned, but I was cheap, and couldn't give up a $50 weave (I am going natural, and am trying to grow my hair out), so my husband waited for me in the parking lot--awww, my boo.
I hope this review is helpful
Do not go to velvety finish! PLEASE spare yourself the embarrassment of a bad weave & damaged hair!!!. This was the worst experience I ever had with a hair weave. Don't go here. The employees are hood and do not do a good job. The girl tried to braid my hair while wearing acrylic nails. a lot of my hair was ripped out. She sewed in the hair 2 tracks at a time. The weave was the worse and the style came out lumpy and thick. Do not go to velvety finish! PLEASE spare yourself the embarrassment & damaged hair!!!
