Nita is FAB-U-LOUS!!!. Nita Wooten of Snobz of Atlanta has been taking care of my tresses for about 3 1/2 years. Throughout this time, my hair has grown and thrived under her care. Recently, I had to relocate from GA back to NYC. I went to another salon and in just two visits my hair began to break and thin out. I was very upset! I sent Nita a message and she immediately responded. Nita gave great knowledgeable suggestions which included a vitamin supplement and deep conditioner. After following her regime, my hair is back on the right track! I had to write another review just to complement her on her professionalism and knowledge of hair. Although, I will not be able to come to Snobz of Atlanta to see her she still provided excellent service and had my best interest at heart. She took time out from her busy schedule to respond to my hair crisis and give advice remotely. It is truly a testament of her excellence and fabulousity! She is a great business woman. I will continue to recommend friends and colleagues in GA to her. I look forward to sitting in her chair when I return or visit GA! Continue to be awesome Nita Wooten of Snobz of Atlanta!
Nita Wooten is hands down one of the best hair stylists that I have ever been to! I am so upset that I found her a few months before I moved to New York. I was referred to Nita by a close friend of mine. Nita dyed and cut my friend's hair, and it looked amazing. It was the best color job I have seen, and the cut was executed extremely well. I just could not stop staring at my friend's hair while we were at dinner! I had been contemplating dying my hair for a very long time, but I was always afraid of the finished product. I have seen many women who get their hair colored, and it does not look natural or their highlights are very chunky. I had a bad experience with a hairdresser who dyed my hair because she dyed my hair a color that I specifically told her not to. I was hesitant trying it again, but NITA WOOTEN is a LIFESAVER! She is truly an expert when it comes to color. Nita is very friendly and personable. She has a warm personality and is very professional! The one thing that really stood out to me about Nita that I have not encountered before is that she really takes the time to LISTEN to what you want. For me, this is very important especially when I am wanting a color change. She really works with you and also incorporates her experience and expertise on color in coming up with the perfect color or color combination for your skin tone. I was so happy with my color. She did a very good job of blending the colors that I wanted, and it looked very natural. NITA WOOTEN was meant to do hair and you can definitely tell! I am currently in New York, but will be coming back to Atlanta for Christmas and will be making a visit for re-touch! I have not even tried any stylist up here because I am stuck on Nita Wooten. I can't imagine letting anyone else even try to re-create only what she can do! You can not go wrong with Nita! Five stars...hands down!!!
Love, love, love Nita Wooten. I was desperately seeking a stylist with the right balance of experience, skill and professionalism. When I called Nita offered great advice after I expressed my concerns regarding maintaining healthy natural hair and growing out my tresses. After the phone conversation I made an appointment to visit the next day and boy was I pleased. It was a Thursday, traffic was horrible and I got lost so I was an hour late. She waited and took me anyway. I was thinking okay she probably wants to get home so I will not have time to get the hydration treatment. She took her time and washed, conditioned, and hydrated my hair. She blew it dry, trimmed it and flat ironed it. It looked beautiful. I absolutely love my hair. She gave me the fly look I have been after for years. As I said Nita is knowlegeable of the latest hair trends but first and foremost she will offer solutions to achieve healthy hair. She also has a good mix of professionalism and down to earth qualities. There is a great atmosphere in the salon, it is clean and tidy and has the right flow. I highly recommend her. You will be pleased.
She's done it again!!! Had been on a hiatus for several months and came back to Nita today with my hair in disarray. Left with the best color that I have ever had (high and low lights...ombre style, love it!), with my hair bouncing and back to life...highly recommend Nita for her expertise and warm, real spirit...she's always refreshing and reliable!
In response to Julie Smith
below....First of all Julie, the reason that I referred you out was not because of your hair compaints, it was because of you as a person! I love what I do, and I refuse to let someone come in and take me out of my element! You came into the salon and made everyone uneasy with your griping and moaning on how you coldn't get a comb through your hair and your hair won't grow! My other clients are wispering to me that they feel sorry for me having to deal with you and the other stylist is looking at me like," Where did this one come from?!" Like I told her when you left, I learned to deal with you by ignoring you, just like you ignored the suggestions that I made for you to keep your hair healthy and grow your hair! You refuse to follow a regiment, you refuse to do what I ask to helf soften up your 5c brittle hair and then you haven't gotten it trimmed in 6 months and then you want to know why it won't grow and why most of it is dead!! You make appointments then show up 2 hours late and expect me to take my time and work on you when I specifically told you to reschedule! This is why I referred you out! Not about your compaint, I dismissed your complaint because you dismiss my suggestions, my time and make eveyone in the salon feel uncomfortable!
And please, don't be a liar....I have the text (I will screenshot) that I sent to you suggesting that you go to an all natural salon that deals with textured hair and will cut your hair without doing a full service (Silk Infusion) on you! I suggested those salons because I know that they specialize in curly hair. You won't let me straighten your 5c brittle hair out, you said you can't afford to by a steamer for home and then you want a precesion cut! I gave you what you asked for, which was a TRIM! A trim just takes the dead ends off. A trim is not a style. Your hair has been the same length for 2 years so I'm unsure how you thought that it was down your back before I trimmed it!
See Julie, I was not trying to be ugly, I'm just tired of dealing with you so I just suggested that you move on! No hard feelings! I have an immanculate clientele that I have to be 100% for and I can't be that with someone that clearly is unhappy with themselves! Like the other stylist said, this is deeper that your hair, when you made the statement that your mother's ansestors are white and you don't know what's wrong with the texture of your hair, that warranted a psycologist maybe....I'm just a stylist:-)
A tri-fecta: Great stylist, atmosphere, and price with Nita..
**the previous title is replaced with this need to know** Hair complaints brings out the "Less than professional" side of stylist, Nita Wooten (located inside of Salon 1707 in Dunwoody, GA). I've had hair services by Nita since 2010. I have natural hair that I don't wear straightened so I don't frequent a salon - only for color and trims which is every 4 months or so. I do wear natural hair styles in which I have another stylist to provide that service, and she is phenomenal.
Nita is great at the work she does. She was always smiles and polite with each of my visits. And when she messed up on an attempt at a natural style, she made attempts to correct the issue (which is why I started going to a stylist that is good at natural styles). Well, this time, the mistake Nita made couldn't be reversed. My service was a trim. Nita didn't straighten my hair to do a precision cut. She blow-dried it and some of the back of my hair was still balled in an afro. I asked her if she was able to really trim my hair with it not being straight as I knew something was wrong. After the appointment, I straightened my hair with a flat iron and was dismayed at the butcher job done on my head. A full 1 1/2 inches was cut and the right side was noticeably shorter than the left (r- above bottom of ear lobe and L - slightly below ear lobe). My bangs which were previously at the bottom of my eye when pulled to see length were significantly above my eyebrows. And there was a long section underneath the right side that was still hanging to my chin (my original length). I immediately informed Nita what I saw and explained that it can't be reversed but she needed to know I was unhappy. Nita's response was to defend herself as a stylist, then stated, "There is no way I can get a precision cut or even a clean line on hair that isn't straight and mostly in its natural state. I am a full service salon and maybe you should go to a half service saleon such as Tag in Buckhead or Curltopia in Marietta but this is too much stress from a quarterly client." I was taken aback by her unprofessionalism and dismissive response. Even told her a simple apology is what true professionals do. And to think I gave her praise reviews when she solicited them for 20% the next service. Well, I can't be bought with this review..it's for free.
My natural hair stylist straightened my hair and stated the job was so botched that she couldn't do anything except have me wear protective hair styles until the hair grows back. She was also shocked by the lack of professionalism from Nita and disrespect for fellow salons (tossing them under the bus).
In conclusion, Nita may be great at "doing hair" and displays a great personality when things are going well. But when you voice your dissatisfaction on a service that can't be corrected, she shows you who she is and that overshadows any hot color job or hair cut. Yes, I may have been a quarterly client and she couldn't count on me to be so frequent as to pay one of her monthly bills, but I pay my $$ for services just the same. And if she touts being a full service salon professional, then there is never a reason to do a half-a$# job. I now understand why she had some other clients leave. I wonder if it was really "their" issue. And she can tell what ever story she desires, but it can't refute the butchered cut you see on my head -- it speaks for itself. Unfortunately, clients that left just didn't write about it.
All I can say is wow!!, I found Nita online about 2 months ago and have not been disappointed. She is a true professional and you can tell she cares about the health of your hair.If you want a stylist who is professional, experienced, and friendly please Atlanta go to Nita at Snobzofatlanta. You won't regret it.
A Fabulous Stylist. I found Nita after a challenging time at another salon. (The other salon was inconsistent with my cut and indifferent about customer service.) As soon as I arrived at Snobz, I could see that things were going to be wonderfully different. Nita greeted me and got me in the chair right away. She corrected my cut, and I ended up with a beautiful, sleek, shiny head of hair that I can easily maintain. I have gotten so many compliments. If you want someone who will respect your time, take care of your hair, and make you look and feel beautiful, look no further than Nita Wooten.
She Saved My Hair!!!.
I was between stylists and had been seeing another stylist that recently permed my hair and within two days I was seeing breakage and that has never happened to me before. Desperate, I started asking my girl Google where I could go in Dunwoody near my office and voila, I found Nita.
I called her for a consult on a Tuesday and went to see her. She listened, evaluated my hair and I booked an appoinment for the next day for a hydration treatment and my hair has been fine ever since.
I have now been seeing Nita weekly (for about a month and a half) and am hooked. She is welcoming, knowledgeable, attentive, and most importantly a gifted stylist. I NEVER wait - that's almost unheard of where I come from. I don't mind waiting, but its nice to come in and sit down in the chair at your appointment time.
I am growing a short style out and so she spent a lot of time discussing with me 'our' plan of attack to grow out my hair - and I appreciate that.
Going to the salon shouldn't be stressful - it should be a relaxing experience - and I get all of that and more from Nita. I would HIGHLY recommend her!
Great Stylist and Considerate of Time. I have been going to Nita for about 2 years. I have always had negative experiences with salons- bad styling, cutting too much, waiting all day. Nita made me a believer that there are good stylists out there. I never have to wait. She is ready at my appoinment time. She gets me in and out. And my hair has never been healthier. I get complements all of the time. I would recommend Nita for anyone.
