PTC cops charge woman with illegal Botox and hormone treatments

Not just anybody can legally give you a shot of Botox to smooth out your wrinkles, as a woman allegedly doing that in Peachtree City found out Friday.
Kristie M. Johnson was arrested April 27 and accused of practicing medicine without a license out of her business, Omni Medical, according to Public Information Officer Captain Rosanna Dove of the Peachtree City Police Department.
Here’s how it went down:
“On April 27, 2012, the Peachtree City Police Department, in coordination with the Douglasville Police Department, arrested Kristie M. Johnson, of Sandbar Cove, Winston, Ga., for six counts of practicing medicine without a license.
“The investigation began on Feb. 9, 2012, when the Peachtree City Police Department, agents from the Composite Medical Board of Medical Examiners, and an agent from the Georgia Drug and Narcotics Division received information that Johnson was allegedly conducting illegal medical practices at Omni Medical, which is located at 2860 West Highway 54 Suite 200, Peachtree City, Ga.
“After an investigation into the allegations, Johnson, the owner/operator of Omni Medical, was arrested in Douglasville, Ga.
“It is alleged that she was providing treatments for Botox, hormone therapy, and other medical procedures without any medical license to do so.
“If anyone has received medical treatment from this facility in the past you are urged to contact Sgt. Gary Meier at 770-487-8866 Ext. 1349.”
Botox is a brand name for a diluted form of Botulinum toxin that is injected in people under a medical doctor’s care for cosmetic reasons, mainly to smooth out wrinkles.
It also is used medically to treat muscle spasms, chronic migraine headaches, cerebral palsy-like diseases and other conditions.
It has been used clinically since the 1980s.
The toxin is the cause of botulism and in its pure state is one of the two most poisonous substances known to science, according to the Merck Index.

Was going to use BUT.... While doing research fo Laser hair removal i found Omni Medical . I was considering using them until I found the owners picture on the website got busted for distributing a controlled substance. I don't think I will be using them for my Laser Hair removal. I live in the county and pray they are not selling drugs from this facility. Drugs are bad enough in Douglasville.

Omni Medical Center. Disappointed that they have not been open for a few weeks, but glad I got the call that they are back open. I really did like the girls in the office, and the girl who did my laser treatments was so sweet.

Glad they are back open. Glad that I am starting back on my treatments with the omni medical center. I hate seeing these sad reviews that people keep writting. When I was there I really like the doctor. He took a lot of time with me and explained my treatment. I hate when people that say negative things could understand that there are people who want good doctor care, and I believe that my daughter and I have recieved it from the omni medical center.

A BIT SHADY.
I find it interesting that some of these reviews were written during a period of time when Omni was out of business. A ghost writer perhaps, to generate positive press to cover up negative?
Recently, I purchased a Groupon for 6 laser hair removal treatments. I have had 2 treatments and was supposed to go to the third last month. (by the way, the treatments didn't work) I arrived 15 minutes prior to my appt. to a locked door and dark office. They had closed their doors without even notifying me. Nice, right?
Today, I called and FINALLY someone answered the phone and assured me that I would receive a call in the next few days to schedule an appt. Yeah, right. I will eat my shirt if I get a call. Oh and supposedly they have moved to Douglasville...45 minutes from their original location in Peachtree City.
Don't bother with this place. An untrained monkey could do a better job of running a business.

Good Choice. Glad I chose Omni for Botox. The doctor wasn't pushy like my derm is. He did a great job. Glad I chose this place.

Omni Medical. Recently bought a groupon deal for Laser hair removal. I have had 2 treatments and have several more to go. At this point, I don't even know if I need much more. Needless to say, I'm very please with my results.
