I traveled all the way from Afghanistan to visit family and get my hair done at the J Spot. I was not happy with the treatment received from Derek. I arrived at the shop while Derek was working on another lady's hair. He instructed his assistants on how to prepare my hair so he could sew in a full head of weave. He left the shop for about 3 hours. After the assistants finished washing and braiding my hair I waited 45 minutes to an hour for Derek's return. No apology was made for the inconvenience. I was charged the full price for a "my schedule is running behind" hairstyle. I won't be going back to the J Spot again.

One person can spoil a good thing. The atmosphere upon entering this salon was great! I was greeted properly, and told that my stylist Willie would be with me shortly. I was shampooed/conditioned and braided by a young man named West. He did an amazing job! West can Shampooo some hair!! I was so relaxed I believe I almost fell asleep. Once he was ready to braid my hair it was quick and painless. I was amazed at how even and small my braids were and more amazed that he was quick!! Then a woman walked in and turned down the music so low you could barely hear it, who does that? Also she was dressed differently then the other stylist so I assumed she was the manager and my assumption proved to be correct. It's awful how one person can impact the mood of an entire salon. I will be back only on the account that Willie and West were so great as well as the rest of the staff. If it wasn't for that I would never come here again.

This IS the Spot!!. I have had the pleasure of going twice to this salon and will now be a regular client. My first experience was getting extensions put in by Willie. Although most of my Saturday was spent in the chair, I certainly did not complain as I felt comfortable that my stylist knew what he was doing. Willie took his time listening to me and recommending options as he sewed in my extensions. The end result...I was fierce and fabulous with my new look. Willie is highly recommended, ladies.

Now as spring is here and summer approaching, the extensions had to come out after my two month glam look. I made another appointment with a new stylist named Kim G. This time, I wanted a Halle Berry short pixi cut and I got it. At first, I was somewhat apprehensive going very short but once I saw that Kim G. had skills with cutting hair, I knew I was in good hands. Okay, now when all was done and I was ready to get out of the styling chair, I was not feeling so good about the look with the simple reason being that I went from long to a drastic short style and it was going to take some time to get use to it. Well, it did not take long because the next day when I woke up, I was able to finger pick my hair and get myself ready for church. Yes, I was on time...lol. Of course, I am now mistaken for Shaunee O'Neal with the new look. Kim G., your hands styled it and I am working it. Thank you, thank you. You're tops!!

The J Spot Salon has talented stylists, no doubt, but my favorite two are Willie and Kim G. You will feel like a celebrity (or at least look like one) when you leave the salon. For me, it's both. Go and check it out for yourself...This IS the Spot!!
