Tips for Alter Ego Kids

Horriable place! They share the same staff as Princeton Salon ( Next to them) They have their receptionist doing services on kids without a license. Childern are more difficult to do than adults. I would not waste your time here. CROOKS!!! The"managers" Venus Dees and Nichole Thorn are unprofessional, uneducated JOKES!

Great Salon for Kids!. I stumbled across AlterEgo kids while I was in the Mall of Georgia last week. I had never heard of it but it was so fun and bright - My son Mason and I just had to go check it out! The receptionist was so nice and informative and answered all our questions - They had an opening at the time, so Mason got his hair cut and it was great! The stylist was so friendly and really made my son feel comfortable and it was affordable! Mason and I will be returning, I would refer AlterEgo Kids to anyone with children!

Extremely Disappointed. I arrived at 10:45 with my two children hoping to have a pleasant experience similiar to the positive reviews listed here. Unfortunately, I was greatly disappointed. We didn't receive a warm greeting ( which I dismissed) and was advised that the stylists had openings at 12:15. I made the appointments and we proceeded to walk around the mall. We arrived back at the "salon" promptly at 12:15 and I was advised that one of my children could be seen (in another ten minutes) but the stylist "didn't realize how much hair her client had and it's going to take her alot longer to finish" so she wasn't sure when/if my other child would be able to be seen. She asked, "Can you come back later this afternoon?" I had ZERO interest in wasting my day waiting. At this point I was upset. First the cold reception, then encountering issues that this salon has with proper staffing and scheduling Needless to say, I declined. I took the kids to Whata Cutie Cuts across the street (in the ToysRUs shopping center) and was pleasantly surpised. We were warmly greeted, promptly seen and left feeling like valued clients.

You have to try this salon for kids!!!. I came across this place one day while I was at the mall and I just knew I had to bring my girls! It's very colorful and girly and right up their alley. So I took the girls and a friend in yesterday for mani pedis and a facial! And like I expected they absolutely loved it!!! They really enjoyed themselves while getting pampered and I was extremely satisfied with how inviting and child friendly the girls who worked there were! They really went out of their way to make sure my daughters felt special and had a good time while we were there. The girls were already begging to go back another time before we even made it out the door!! We will definately be going back!

Do not waste your time!. I called on a Sunday around noon to ask what the hours were and asked if I needed to make an appointment. The girl on the phone said no, walk-ins were welcome. So, I took my two kids around 3 o'clock. There was a party in progress. The girl at the desk said that someone could cut one of my kid's hair at 3:30 and another one at 4:00 or both of them could be done at 4:00 so that they could finish together. I decided to wait until 4:00 so for an hour, we walked around the mall. Came back about 10 mintues 'til 4:00 and was told that someone would be there right at 4:00 and someone else at 4:05. First of all, there is not any place to sit down while you wait. Secondly, my oldest daughter asked the 2 girls behind the counter several questions (like all 7-year olds do) and they were not very friendly and seemed annoyed. By 4:15, no one had showed up to cut my kids' hair so we just walked out without saying anything because honestly, they probably didn't even notice that we had left. It was very unorganized and not kid- (nor parent) friendly. If you don't like kids or know how to cater to them, you probably need to find a job that does not involve kids. Also, all clients should be taken care of, not just the ones having parties. Word of mouth is a powerful thing and I will never ever recommend this salon to anyone. I'll go across the street to Whata Cutie Cuts (in the Toys R Us shopping center) where kids are treated like kids and the parents are treated with respect.

Fun Cuts for Kids. I literally stumbled upon this place by accident when walking into the mall to get my son's hair cut. He had such fun, we took his brother the next time and they both enjoyed it! While most of the place is set up to cater to girls, they don't bat an eye at catering to boys and set out to make them feel just as special. They're also quite willing to fix their mistakes. My 8-yr old wanted highlight tips and it turns out his hair is as resistant to highlights as mine was. The stylist left it on for the regular amount of time and then washed it out and styled it. We got home and realized you couldn't tell that he'd gotten highlights so back the next day we went. They called in the same stylist and he redid it free of charge. This time we left with a very happy little boy and very happy mom. Pricing is about what I'd pay for them at Great Clips and it makes them happy!

The Perfect Place to Have Your Child's Birthday Party!. We recently held our daughter's 7th birthday party at Alter Ego Kids and had a fantastic experience. Cindy and the rest of the girls went out of their way to ensure that the day was special for all of us. We were especially impressed with how well all of them interacted with the children. It really felt as if they were having as much fun as the kids! I highly recommend Alter Ego Kids in Buford (located inside the Mall of Georgia) to anyone who is looking for a place to host a child's birthday party.
