I just wanted to let you all know that
my initial experience at Bella Dama was wonderful. Kena was very attentive, professional, and interesting to speak with. During the first few minutes of speaking with her, I ask her "What do you like most about your job?". Her response was that she enjoys seeing the transformation of her clients and their reponse in seeing themselves. WELL... I experienced that first hand. She did an OUTSTANDING job on my hair. It went from drab to fab in no time flat. In fact, my husband did a double take when I arrived from the salon. And, there were quite a few compliments this morning as well.
Thank YOU KENA for giving me a glide in my stride!
What Happened....Feeling Unappreciated!. I was with this salon when they first moved to their new location and was a regular and faithful client. Customer service was great in the beginning but I noticed a gradual decline as they became more comfortable and a significant decline in customer service when Iris left. Iris was exceptional at greeting and making you feel welcome...I left shortly after she did. After coming across one on the stylists a couple weeks ago, I decided to write this review to indicate why I chose to leave. First, if you publicize that you're an "upscale" salon, then your services should better than average--especially if you charge more than average for the same services. I expect to be greeted when I enter a salon (whether I'm a new client or old--especially if I'm an old client since this is repeated revenue for you). I've been there when stylists look up but didn't speak because they were with a customer. What?? smh. What happened to offering drinks? Second, consistency is a must. Don't cut corners--unless you plan to cut the price as well. If there is a customer that's displeased, the way YOU respond to them is what will keep them coming back. Your work will not always be fantastic--you will make mistakes at times. If you get an attitude, then you've lost that customer. You're not doing them a favor... they are keeping you in business. NEVER forget that. Both the owner and staff should be elated that a customer drove by several other salons to visit theirs. Third, the final reason I left is that I simply didn't feel appreciated. I didn't feel that my gas, drive, and tips were reflected in the overall experience I received. While I loved the hair care, I care about the actual "experience" equally as well. Upscale=quality, professionalism, courtesy and appreciation. It's a shame...you started out so well.
DEIDRA CAISON IS A MUST SEE!!!!.
I have been going to Deidra at Salon Bella Dama for about 2 months now. Not only did she give my hair a new look she boosted my confidence. She is very professional, and she wants whats best for her clients. There is not a day that goes by that I do not get compliments on my hair. I let her do whatever she wants to do. I completely trust her judgment. If you are in the ATL, area or even if you are not she is WORTH the drive because when you leave you will not feel the same. I look forward to going to see her every two weeks!! She is the BOMB!!!!!!!
Not only is she professional but the entire staff at Salon Bella Dama is, you will leave filling like a Million BUCKS!!!
Ask for Patrick.
After about 2-3 years of not having my hair cut by a real stylist, I had been looking around, but had no dice.
I found Patrick, and he did my hair. I have fine hair, but there's a LOT of it, so it's thick in quantity but fine in texture. I told him a few requirements (that I'd like a few layers, liked to keep my bangs, sometimes I let it air-dry when I don't have the time, and I'd like to keep the ability to have it up in a ponytail) but told him to just do what felt right to him, since he was the expert, I had nothing to lose, ect.
After some time (and a big giant wad of hair on the ground), I got a really nice, voluminous hair cut with layers and pretty bangs. When I pull it up a pony tail, some strands of hair fall down with my bangs, which is EXACTLY what I was hoping for. It looks PERFECT. I know that this style will be very versatile, whether I decide to curl or straighten it, or let it air-dry (I have naturally wavy, beachy-looking hair).
He's spent some time in Germany doing hair (He also came back with the styling tools). He also says that he does "Dorm Haircut Parties" so I'd recommend him to any college student as well.
TL;DR- Patrick is a great stylist, knows what he's doing, and I'm VERY pleased with my haircut. :D
My stylist is not here anymore, so I won't be either!. Very nice Salon, but I have found the best stylist for me, so I go where she goes!
PUNCTUAL_PROFESSIONAL_TALENTED_ACCOMMODATING.
I have very high expectations of my stylist. In fact I visit my stylist once every two (2) weeks faithfully, rain, sleet, or shine. As such, I left my previous stylist of 5 years due to ongoing, consistent, unprofessional conduct; I felt like a battered wife that could not leave. I can recall waiting to be serviced almost 2-3 hours, sometimes I wouldn't leave the Salon until well after midnight!!! A friend suggested SALON BELLA DAMA. I called the salon (GREETED PROFESSIONALLY) to set up a consultative appointment. I visited the salon the following day for a consultative visit. I met with Mrs. Chantelle Norman, I asked her a series of questions and she responded with expert knowledge and made great recommendations for healthy and of course hydrated hair (TALENTED). After the consultation I set an appointment and I have been a faithful customer for 4 months. When I enter the salon on the day of every appointment, I am greeted and immediately escorted to the beauty prep area (PUNCTUAL). The Salon has an ambiance of class and elegance. Every Stylist is well versed in a variety of styles, cuts, colors, extensions, and healthy hair. The salon welcomes and embraces gender and cultural diversity (ACCOMMODATING). I have had the opportunity to network with wonderful professionals from the Atlanta Area and Abroad. I no longer have to dedicate an entire day to a salon, I am finally able to get in and get out in a timely fashion. I highly recommend the stylists of Salon Bella Dama.
Sincerely,
Dr. S. W-M
TEAM CHANTELLE. After transitioning back to a very short cut with relaxer from natural hair I found myself very frustrated with the techniques of my former stylist at a Buckhead salon. For several months I trolled the internet looking for the right stylist and salon for me when I came across Salon Bella Dama in Sandy Springs. I called and went in to consult with proprietress Chantelle Nunes-Norman about my haircare needs and expectations and to make sure the salon was clean and up to my standards. Well I was super impressed the moment I hit the door and Chantelle is not only charismatic but highly skilled and professional. I love how she listens to me and doesn't give off negative vibes like many stylists do when asked if something can be done 'stylewise'. I am soooo looking forward to the fabulous sew-in that Chantelle will be giving me next month. The salon is truly upscale, clean and way too comfortable. There is NEVER any sitting around, waiting for your service. Once you walk through the door for your scheduled appointment, you are greeted nicely and whisked to the back to get started immediately. The other stylists are always warm & welcoming and Iris is a gem. Chantelle, YOU ARE STUCK WITH ME FOR LIFE!! Thanks for the very best haircare and service that I've been searching for in Atlanta for over 11 years - SERIOUSLY!!!
Salon Bella Dama you must experience!. A new client, I did not think that it was possible. What? Finding a stylist to replace my stylist of 11 years. The owner Chantelle is the "best". I arrived at her salon very tearful having lost most of my hair after wearing a weave for 8 years. Now I have new hair growth, stronger healthier hair and a fantastic new weave NY style!. What is NY style, just call and ask. She has a delightful and knowlegeable receptionist who will answer all questions and make you feel real special. A comfortable and welcoming salon with superb customer service, I have new confidence. My husband and friends even strangers tell me that my hair is beautiful! My husband stated " you should have made the change years ago"
Nita Wooten is no longer with Salon Bella Dama.

Knowledgeable Stylist: Nita Wooten.
I am currently a cosmetology student and attended a session that Nita was teaching at the Bronner Bros. Hair Show in February. She was AWESOME. She had such great product knowledge and was so relatable. Even though our session was supposed to be lecture only, Nita allowed us to participate in styling the client. I was so impressed and intrigued that I asked if I could shadow her at Salon Bella Dama.
I am extremely observant, and pay attention to details greatly. I noticed the care and patience Nita had with each client. Not to mention the great styling and hair care going on. Not only by Nita but by the other stylists as well. Nita took every opprotunity to educate me and even allowed me to assist to give me some hands on experience. She is an excellent stylist and educator and would recommend her to anyone...matter of fact-I just did.
