great bar and rooftop deck; the loaded tots and poor man's platter are great!
Awesome House. Great local bar in my neighborhood, Grant Park. Foods ok, but the drinks and the wait staff are great. Not to mention the best roof patio in the area. Check out the Dirty South Trivia on Thursday nights.
Great Local Grant Park Hangout. Great local bar in my neighborhood, Grant Park. Foods ok, but the drinks and the wait staff are great. Not to mention the best roof patio in the area. Check out the Dirty South Trivia on Thursday nights. Guaranteed good time.
Citysearch Editorial Review. Sandwiched between Six Feet Under and Tin Lizzys on Memorial Drive, Republic Social House is a modern, comfort pub with massive rooftop appeal. Designed and owned by the gent (Terry Barbu) who laid out the Sound Table and Top Flr among others, the feels is part industrial, part California-modern, using timber for the jagged paneled walls that came from the tornado that devastated the area in 2008. The menu is mostly melts and burgers, done half-heartedly but passable when you’ve had a drink or two. The best reason to go to Republic is the massive rooftop deck and bar scene. Out-doing their neighbors in size and design, the deck is flanked in cedar with plenty of socially enticing benches, a rooftop bar, garden accents (potted plants) and skyline views. And with drinking combos like the Poor Man’s special--a beer, a well cocktail and a shot for $6.66--it’s certainly a tempting option.
Best Dancing Staff in the City (Robot Division). Food is decent, and they serve it late. Staff can do the robot.
