Caribbean café fits in perfectly in East Atlanta Village.. In Short
Taking over My Sisters’ Room during day time hours, the Village Jerk is a Caribbean sandwich shop that turns into a lesbian bar at night. Only in the melting pot that is East Atlanta could this seem normal. But with a cozy interior and an inviting back patio, it’s relaxed, like a tropical eatery should be. While you can get a decent Cuban or beans ‘n’ rice around town, order their namesake. The jerk chicken sandwich is a potent blast of spicy seasoning, offset by crunchy, fruit-based slaw that is unexpected but balances perfectly. Grab a seat outside, order sangria, something jerked and pretend you aren’t in Atlanta.
