This restaurant was extremely clean and the sushi was really good, which is not what you expect from a typical buffet. Service wasn't 5 star restaurant but it was good. I am definitely going to be a repeat customer.
Geat Experience!!!!. Took a chance with the family on a Saturday evening. Great service on a nite when the joint was absolutely packed. Food was FAB YOU LUSS! We couldn't believe everything that was offered! We didn't have enough room to sample everything because what we had was soooo good! The place was clean, personnel were pleasant and helpful and did i mention the food was GREAT? We will be back soon and often! Oh, and it was 9.99! We ate like kings for under $50!
Very nice restaurant. I thought this place was really nice. The beautiful waterfalls with the Koi in the ponds as you walk in are amazing! I dont eat sushi but it looked very nice. I do have to agree that the meats are dry. I eat mostly vegetables and noodles anyway. I have NEVER been treated rudely there. Not sure why some have had such a bad experience. We have been at least 5 times and never had a problem.
Pacific Buffet treated me like dirt and tried to overcharge. Came in the resturant because of their bright yellow sign that said lunch special $5.99. I had come the week before and had gotten the special for lunch to go. On this visit I was greeted by a tall Asian female. When I asked for the lunch special she advertised on the big yellow sign outside she told me I couldn't get it. I told her I had gotten it just the week before and she told me that I was lying and then she quoted to me "It never happened". I told her I could understand if she was saying that the $5.99 special was ending but asked why she said I was lying" I even described the woman who had waited on me. She laughed at me and said again "You never got the lunch special here on a take out, It never happened". She said I was lying again. She then began to degrade me and laugh with my family standing beside me. I am 48 years old and have never had someone tell me I was lying. I was shocked, appalled, upset. I gave her the styrofoams back and walked out. Will never set foot in there again. Make sure when you r with my family. What awful treatment. So read their signs about specials and make sure they give you the price they advertise. I think it is a bait and switch method to get you in there and hit you with the prices. This woman just wanted to overcharge. Watch them.
Beware!. My second time visiting the restaurant on yesterday 2/19/11. The food from the bar was lukewarm and the meats tough. No knives were even given with your place settings. No one cleared used plates from your table , you had to ask. The clinche was the dead roaches in the womens bathroom. The score for the place was 100 on our first vist. It has been downrated to 94. Peole be careful where you eat and feed your family. I saw dead roaches but did I NOT see????.........No longer our our family dine list.
The Worst Dining Experience in 25 Years!!!.
Deciding to take advantage of a coupon for 20% off our total bill a couple of friends and myself decided to try this place out since two of us were big sushi fans.
One of the first things I noticed is that everything was overcooked and much of it seemed not to be kept at proper serving temperatures. Much of the meats were not pre-sliced and I witnessed some disgusting habits of people slicing the meats i..e; people using the forks they just ate from their dish and then sticking it in the meat to hold down while they sliced it with their own knives instead of using the one provided.
The sushi bar was horrible and the rice too soft and wet. It also appeared to be sitting a while. Those pieces I did attempt to eat were tasteless and of very poor texture and ended up leaving it on my plate as most of the food I tasted. The one good thing I tasted was the ham, but after seeing the people using their own dirty utensils to cut it I stayed away from all of the meats.
I do not believe I need to tell you what kind of condition the restrooms were in which is a good indicator of how clean a restaurant is overall. Trash was everywhere and none of the 3 stalls were clean enough to use. They had a cleaning schedule posted, but it was mostly just fudged for I attempted twice to use the facilities, but nobody had cleaned it.
The absolute WORST part of the experience is that the 20% off coupon was NOT taken off the bill even though it was presented. They manged to overlook the coupon and charged full price. When the oversight was pointed out the management (Alex and another woman) out right lied and said they do not have the ability to do refunds and that their systems are incapable. I know this NOT to be true for and establishment which takes VISA or Mastercard has the ability to do refunds. When I got VISA on the phone they said they would be happy to help the merchant do the refund, however Alex the manager's response was that he was not going to do the refund and honor the coupon and that if I reversed the charge that he was going to call the police right then. I then offered to dial the police for him fully knowing that I was within my rights and he then just walked away. The patrons who witnessed the event could not believe what they were witnessing and said they would not be back.
I have dealt with shady establishments before, but nothing compares to this palce. Like I said, the WORST experience in 25 years of dining out!
GREAT AT FIRST AND THEN A TWIST. I first went to this buffet with my best friend and it was great. We started going every other day. This was during the grand opening. We made it our mission to go and eat all u can eat crab legs on some sundays they had lobster tails all u can eat too. The price was great...11.99-13.99 and no more for dinner. Me and my husband would go, and he is not a fan of buffets, but he loved this place for th CRAB LEGS, of course. All of a sudden they removed the crab legs, u have to pay at least 8.00 more to eat them, so now i is like 18.99 to eat there. I am very upset in this change, and will not be going back!!!!!!!
Most and last visit to Pacific. The first two times that we visited Pacific is was the best ever. One of my favs were the marinated octopus and the all you can eat crab legs. They first removed the octopus and then the crab legs. Now it is $7.00 extra to get them, which is no reall biggie. The food has gone downhill. The dishes are becoming like every other so so Chinese restaurant. The killer is that all of us got sick from the last visit. The shushi pieces on the rice are micro small on hard rice balls. I would gladly pay more and go to Nori Nori in Sandy Springs. Since getting sick and the cut back we will not be going back.
The BEST Buffett i've every been to!.
Once you arrive at the restaurant you may think "the place doesn't look too good"
but the first step you take into there, you may feel "wow this place is amazing!" There are Terracotta there to greet you and a small bridge where you walk over; with two small waterfalls beside each side.
There are all sorts of foods from Asian to American.
and the sushi bar is amazing! There are different var. of sushi freshly made.
The deserts are just breathtaking! They have cheese cakes on plates, with tubs of ice-cream that you scoop out yourself.
The whole experience was just amazing!!
Best Asian Buffet in Marietta/Kennesaw.
Marietta finally has an excellent asian buffet. Unlike the grimey and red-districty feel of other similar-themed buffets, Pacific Buffet features a very open and clean layout. The water fountain that greets you upon entance immediately alerts you that you're in for an entirely different buffet dining experience.
The seating is dark and contemporary leather, you sit at well-matched dark wood tables with an eccletic feel. Our server was attentive yet unintrusive, at no point did dirty dishes pile up.
One of the key differences between this buffet and other buffets that I've been to is the presence of the cooks out in the open. This has two very awesome benefits - it puts you in direct contact with the individuals making the food as opposed to the mysterious backroom kitchens at most other buffets and it ensures that there is a dedicated indivdiual actively attending to the quality of the food in the steam trays. The food was fresh and featured an extremely diverse mixture of Americana, seafood (e.g. fresh oysters, mussels, octapus, crab legs, shrimp), steak, classic Sinoamerican poultry dishes (e.g. General Tso's Chicken and Honey Chicken were two exceptional shout-outs). The salad and fresh fruit were ripe and delicious. There were four soups (Wanton, Egg Drop, Miso, and Hot & Sour) and an assortment of authentic steamed rolls/etc.
The sushi was simply outstanding - equally on par to sushi offered at other restaurants around Kennesaw/Marietta. There were two sushi chefs making fresh sushi and easily twenty different varieties of Maki rolls and Nigiri. You would easily spend the same amount of money for a premium sushi Maki roll for what the entire buffet costs.
The deserts all appeared to be equally fresh and made on premises. I was too full to sample, but my wife assured me that they were quite good. A particular favorite for her was the ice cream (what you would expect from a Ben & Jerry's or Baskin Robins) and the blueberry cake.)
Cost/Benefit: We went on a week night and it cost 10.99 per person. I would have gladly paid twice that amount for the quality and variety of the food on the buffet.
The final and important call out were the restrooms, which was one of the most interesting lavoratories I have ever been in. There was an hourly cleanup board that was clearly attentively followed. The restroom was immaculate and nicely lit with a sky-like ceiling (you have to see it to understand what I'm talking about). The pop music was a little loud, but I didn't spend much time in the restroom so it didn't grate on my ears too much.
Previous experiences at Asian-themed buffets have left me begging my wife to never let me talk her into letting me go to them again. This was absolutely the exception that blew the rest of them away. Suffice to say that if the Pacific Buffet Sushi and Grill continues to maintain the superb level of quality and service we enjoyed tonight, it will become our go-to place for inexpensive and delicious Sinoamerican cuisine.
