Bad experience, push and lie from sales person and sales manager.
Last Sat. I had a bad experience in Sandy Springs Toyota. The sales person, whose name sounds "wade", makes me disappointed.
We came to Sandy Springs Toyota to look for a new car. The sales person brought us to the car garage, pick one car for us, and let us drive it to the front door. Then, we followed him to the lobby. We had little communication. He started doing paper work. We had no idea about what he was doing until he asked for my SSN. I stopped him and inquired the price. He said he would not waste the time on negotiating the price of this car. I did not believe he had the front to have those words, especially when his manager stood beside him. He also stated that the dealer would loose $1414 after sold this car. I will never believe a dealer will loose money when they sold a car. I felt we were cheated by a stupid lie. We don't like this sales strategy. Unbelievable, the manager stood beside the sales person and supported his statement. After I told them I could not accept the price they offered, they said we could not have a lower price. If so, they will give us $10.00. However, they said if I left we could not have the price anymore. I felt that was ridiculous and could no accept any push from them.
Eventually, we left, we found a lower price, and we will never come back. No only us but also our friends.
Do not buy a car from here.
I bought a 1998 chrysler sebring on 8/11/08, the price was 6,900.00. it was told to the salesman on the phone that i would have to go and borrow money to buy the car. he told me to come get the car and i could write them a check and they would hold it for 4 to 5 days so i could get the money from the bank. 3 days later i called to let them know that the bank needed the title and they would write them a check. they kept telling me that they would have to call me back. the next day i called them again about the title, found out that the title wasnt in the dealerships name it was still in the man's name that traded the car in, witch was about 3 months ago. they had time to get the title switched over. the bank wont loan money on that title for me because the title isnt in the dealerships name. i called the man at the dealership to talk about setting something up so i could keep the car. he lowered the price of the car to 4,000.00. i told him i would bring him cash money and get the title and to just leave it like it is and the bank would have the title sent off and put in there name. now the man at the dealership doesnt want me to bring cash without the title being in there name so they can get credit for selling the car. so now i still have the car, copy of the title and the man at the dealership keeps telling me he will call me when he finds out something. it's been almost two weeks and they still havent told me anything. they wont me to bring the car back, but i'm not because i have the cash money they are wanting for the car, i just dont want to have to wait 2 weeks before getting the title when they have had the car for over 3 months and still hasnt sent title off to be put in there name. so what makes them think that when i bring them the money they will send the title off to be put in my name?
Every salesman there has lied to me about the car and the title from day one... if they wont the car they can come get it... i am not driving over 2 hours again for them
Starts out fine but ends up feeling like any other service dept - shady.
I'm actually here at the service waiting area now, using their free wireless internet - and I've been here since 7:45 am (it's 12:30pm right now). I'm about to pay $590 for services, including a $240 mass airflow issue that they supposedly fixed 2 years ago. Over the past two years, I've tried to stick to them, on recommendations from my friend, but naturally my gut feeling has pretty much won out while I've been sitting here. In the past few hours I've witnessed "fuel injection cleaning, throttle body service, intake carbon buildup" repairs being offered to two different people and spoken very quickly, as if it's just technical jargon that you should just say "yes" to. Far more likely that this is a less common service that is pushed on people to make them pay more (Google tells me yes). I tried to sidestep that by mentioning what I thought the problem was (mass airflow sensor), and I'm still probably being ripped off. My guess is that 75% of what they want you to do is probably a good idea, and the other 25% are just marginal things that should be done far less frequently than they are telling you.
So yeah, I know it's tough, but keep looking for a 100% reputable place...
I went to checkout the 2007 used corollas. The salesman made me wait for 40min cause he had to sell car to others. He didnt allow other sales men to take care of me for some reason either.
I narrowed down on two 2008 used corollas and had a test drive. And then I was quoted the prices as 17k and 18k for them respectively!! I forgot to do my homework and next day on contacting the "world of toyota" he offered me a brand new 09 toyota for 17k including taxes and all.
Sandy springs toyota just tries to fool people and see if they become one if they dont do their homework.

Please, do your homework before walk in Toyota Sandy Springs. Those people are terrible well trained to sell under pressure. They would tell everything you want to hear. On this last Saturday, I walked in there to see prices of new cars. They don't tell you the price of the car unless you tell them lots of things about you first. In that way, they can manipulate you by telling you lots of lies. My used car, a Toyota Corolla 2004 in a very good shape was offered $7,000!!!! It has only 37,000 miles! Crazy! Those people think we are ignorant. They would not lower the stick price of the new car and they would get your car for almost nothing.
Stay away from those thiefs.
easy purchase. i do not like buying or shopping for a car...but sandy springs toyota was easy to deal with and met all my needs and wants.........the new building they are building will make the dealership one of the best in atlanta...the old one is a eye sore!
Junk dealer fees. The ad said $5995 and below it said "prices plus tax tag & title" While I was writting the check for $5995 + 6% +$38= $6393, The salesman(Jeff Rogers) said there was a $595 dealer prep and $25 emissions fees. I refused the junk add on fees and was denied the purchase.
Don't get your major service done here.
Recommended for oil changes, and that's all. They email a coupon for oil changes. My experience has been that the coupon is exactly the same price as you'll get without the coupon. Misleading, no?
For major repairs, you can do better elsewhere. Expect that you will be quoted a price that is at least 2-4 times more expensive than you will get at a small, independent repair shop. Just be sure that if your car is still under warranty, repairs elsewhere will not void your warranty.
For example, I took my car in for an exhaust issue. Toyota came back with a list of things that included:
Replace exhaust gasket.
Fuel injection cleaning.
Throttle body service.
Intake carbon flush.
Tuneup with "double platinum tipped spark plugs."
90,000 mile service
Now my car only has some 83,000 miles on it. I also told them that I work at home and only put about 6K miles on my car a year. Still they pushed for the 90K service.
All of this above was to the tune of $600+. They said they'd offer me a package deal of something like $511. Whoopee.
I ran the list by friends and other repair shops, and the opinion of all was that there was a lot of "Toyota padding." In the end, I asked Toyota how much for just the gasket, and was quoted $171.
But that's not all. They missed a major problem with the exhaust system---a kink and leak in the pipe right by the muffler. How can they miss such a thing if they had my car for over 2 hours and supposedly examined the exhaust system well?
I took it to a small muffler chain and paid $215, which included replacing the gasket ($65), cleaning the fuel injection ($95), and removing the damaged piece of pipe and welding in a new section ($55). Lots better than $500-600 which wouldn't have even fixed the problem completely!
