Great for groups and families; I usually get the pulled pork or the ribs. They also have a unique mixed drink menu for those looking for something a little different

Tips for DBA Barbecue

November 11, 2012

D.B.A Barbeque recently catered my wedding and did an AMAZING job. My wife and I had over a dozen guests – many of whom have also thrown a wedding recently – tell us that it was the best wedding food they have ever eaten. I was very excited for the food myself as I regularly frequent the restaurant, but they completely obliterated my expectations. And their service was even better than the food. Thanks D.B.A.!

Casual dining at its best. Recently our dinner group visited to DBA Barbecue. The thing we noticed right off was the relaxed and casual atmosphere. This would be a great spot for dinner and drinks on a warm summer evening. Everyone agreed the the menu selection was great. We all enjoyed our entrees; my selection was the spare ribs, which were tender and delicious!. The cocktail menu was quite different. Among the choices are a martini with pickle juice or a Manhattan infused with bacon. Not your typical well drinks! Try the Corsair Wry Moon....very smooth. On the downside, the parking is tight and the sign is not visible until you got right up on the restaurant. Our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful but took a long time to take our orders. But overall, the price was right, the food was good and a good time was had by all!

What A Waste of Calories. My husband and I were very excited to go to DBA's tonight after reading such great reviews. We were highly disappointed! It looked like a fun place when we arrived. The decor was typical BBQ joint. We ordered the brisket and pulled pork and boiled peanuts. The waiter said they were out of peanuts and didn't bother to offer any other suggestions for an appetizer. So we just waited on our dinner. The portions were very disappointing for the price. The pork was dry and the brisket had no flavor. The sauces were so-so. The cream corn was delicious and I would love to have the recipe. However, no chance asking the waiter,,,he was scare. No personality either! Didn't offer us dessert either,,,just laid the check down. We will not be back. Fox Bros is far better in price but especially taste and service.

Do not recommend the baby back ribs. A group of us went to DBA BBQ tonight and I was looking forward to baby back ribs. I was very disappointed in the ribs. The brisket was good although the server didn't know what a burnt end was. Really liked the hummus and grilled cream corn. Overall a disappointment.

AWESOME - BEST BBQ IN ATLANTA. We went tonight for the first time. The restaurant is owner operated and you can tell. The service is amazing, the food was fresh and delicious... like you had been invited to someones home for dinner..it was a treat to find such a restaurant. The prices were reasonable and the atmosphere was light and fun. This place is great on every level...you have to try it. Absolutely the best bbq in Atlanta

Best BBQ in GA/Souteast. I've had BBQ throughout GA and this was by far the best. The meat isn't covered in sauce like most places but they do have it on the tables if you prefer. The amount of smokiness in the meat is perfect. Wings, brisket, pulled pork, and turkey BLT are amazing as are the side items...try the corn. Servers/owner are very friendly. Great place!

Best Barbecue Restaurant in Atlanta!. DBA BBQ is my new favorite barbecue restaurant in Atlanta! Im not a huge bbq fan because I dont love bbq sauce, but the way they smoke their meat gives it the most amazing smokey barbecue flavor! DBA's wings are unlike any wings Ive ever tasted and the smoked turkey BLT sandwich is delicous! I could even be satisfied with just eating the sides since they are so good, such as the creamed corn and mac n cheese. Ive turned many of my firneds and family into DBA BBQ fans too! SOme of my friends go multiple times per week! They also offer Catering for any event and it would be a great place for a holiday party or special occassion in a casual setting. Highly recommended!!!

A great into BBQ joint - only getting better. As a certified KC BBQ Society judge, I have an extensive knowledge of the qualifications, styles, and tastes for great BBQ. I've been to virtually every great BBQ joint within a 50 mile radius of downtown Atlanta. When DBA BBQ first opened within a mile of my home in Va-Hi, I was really excited. We went in the first week and came away pleased, but not totally thrilled - the sides were AWESOME, but the pulled pork was too dry. Today, I went back after a four month hiatus and I was COMPLETELY OVERWHELMED with the great improvements they've made since opening. The pulled pork was vastly improved and the new wood smoker made the ribs what they should be - terrific and charred on the outside, yet still tender and smoky inside. The creamed corn was spectacular, cole slaw very good, and banana pudding was top notch. Even if you tried DBA before and came away with an average feeling, go back and give it a second shot - these guys are trying really hard, making major upgrades, really using true wood smoker now (much to the delight of those breathing the nearby air), and have a great personal touch. I concur with other reviewers about the service - from the host, to the waiter, to the owner himself (Matt), they were all very accomodating and engaging. We're definitely going back a third time - and likely more after that. I think that they're really onto something here now that the pork is on par with ATL's best BBQ joints. Coupled with the outstanding sides and excellent service - DBA is a winner...and a great value.

Great BBQ!. Went there to watch the Falcons game with some friends. Tried the smoked wings, which were great. also had a two meat combo with brisket, pulled pork, grilled creamed corn, and sauteed green beans. Lots of smoke flavor, but still moist. Great beer selection. Will definately be back.

Great Family Spot. I recently took my wife and son to DBA and it was a great experience. We went and watched the GA Tech FSU game on the big plasma screen they have on the patio, and Whenever I stepped inside to go to the restroom, I didnt miss anything because they had two more over the bar.

The food was great, the meat was nice and tender with just the right amount of smoke flavor in it. I tried some of my wife's brisket and was pleasantly suprised. I am from Texas so I am very picky about the brisket I eat, but for the first time in a long time I tasted what that meat should taste like. My son got the mac n cheese which had a unique yet still classic flavor to it and he devoured it. Also the banana pudding and the chocolate burbon ice cream were both very delicious

I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an evening out with friends and family, just be prepared for a little extra noise.
