Taking over the Glenn Hotel space that formally lodged destination hopefuls B.E.D. and Maxim Prime, Concentrics’ 30 Tables learned from its’ failing predecessors, delivering a smart, affordable menu and business-friendly digs. Open for all three meals, downtown worker bees can get a grab-n-go breakfast or a quick sandwich-salad combo for lunch, and the “all day menu” of affordable burgers and bites still carry the expected Concentrics execution. The Asian barbecue sandwich tastes like a bahn mi was stuffed with NC-style chopped pork while fried chicken gets Texas toast treatment. Dinner goes the elegant route with delicately prepared snapper salad and masculine steaks and chops, but the brilliance in the restaurant lays in the fact it doesn’t alienate its audience. The crowd is part tourist, part business during the day while hotel guests charge bang-up meals to their expense account at night.
