What People Are Saying About RA Sushi

This flashy Pan-Asian transplant certainly found an appropriate Atlanta location. Touching down in Peachtree’s swooping 1010 corner space, the outside patio one ups TAP with a fabulous street-side bar while sexy servers frantically scurry around the equally-attractive space. Its style overload, but they stay true to form. The menu leans heavily to the masses with likable noodle dishes and more fried options than raw. Specialty rolls have names like “viva Las Vegas” and “ultimate shrimp tempura,” signaling this probably isn’t the spot to order high grade sashimi. But embrace the safe and…
Editor's Tips
- Where to Sit:
- If the weather is even slightly good, straddle up to the outside bar, one of the coolest in the city.
- Parking:
- Unless you get lucky with street parking, expect to pay $5 or $10 for parking.

by LukaSimone

The sushi is fresh and delicious must try the Viva las Vegas roll and NY Rolls they are finger licking good!! check this place out guys you will not be disappointed.
Not bad

For being as atmosphere driven, the sushi itself isn't so bad. We like to stick with the basic rolls and authentic rolls, we don't normally fall for the designer rolls. We decided to try the lobster mango one though and we wouldn't go back to that one. If you're not a big fan of sushi then do it b/c it's almost as if you're not eating sushi to begin with. That said, the spicy yellowtail was a delight.
I Could Eat Here Three Times A Day (Including Breakfast)

Wow, where do I begin??? I pretty much have been obsessed with Ra Sushi ever since it opened! Whether you are going for lunch or dinner, the restaurant atmosphere is unreal. Everyday around noon they will open the giant wall windows that open up to the patio and 11th Street. The open air feeling gives the restaurant a refreshing feeling and a GREAT break from work. The lunch specials that Ra Sushi offers are incredible. The giant bento box includes chicken teriyaki, shrimp or vegetable tempura, miso soup, salad, rice, and a couple different kinds of spring rolls. Other lunch specials include all different kinds of sushi and sushi bowls which includes rice topped with a variety of vegetables and spicy tuna. These are just a couple of the MANY astounding lunch specials that Ra Sushi has to offer. I personally enjoy the Spicy Tuna Roll (pictured above from lunch)! Another popular menu item is the Viva Las Vegas Roll. This roll is beautifully designed to make your mouth water (pictured above). Ra Sushi also has an incredible happy hour which includes half off pretty much all the sushi rolls along with $2 Hot Sake, $3 PBR, $4 Chang Lager, $5 Uchi Red and White Wine, and $6 Chang Lager and Sake! The atmosphere for dinner/late night is pretty much a giant party. With the open air restaurant, the half indoor/half outdoor bar, the music hits pumping through the speakers, your favorite sporting events playing on one of their many televisions, the good looking waitstaff, the fabulous food, and the countless good-looking people eating throughout the restaurant, this place turns into one exciting curbside party on 11th Street and Crescent. The food is unbelievable and is definitely one of the best sushi restaurants in town!
Great food, but only go if you have plenty of time to wait.

Since RA Sushi arrived in Atlanta, I've been to visit several times. When it first opened, I even attended the Grand Opening 80s party. RA Sushi was a regular for my girlfriends and I on Friday nights for a short time. The atmosphere and location make it a great place to eat. However, my last two visits were not as satisfying as the first few. On one Friday afternoon visit, I had to wait an extremely long time for my food. I watched my friends eat and didn't get my food until after they finished. Then this past December 2009 on a visit to the restaurant the waitress served and charged me for the dinner portion of an appetizer item that I ordered. She then argued with me as did the manager. Though I did get a refund for having to pay the dinner cost, I don't know if I will go back to RA Sushi after that. I have nothing but fantastic things to say about the food, but the service is a superior disappointment.
- Pros: Creative menu
- Cons: Slow service, Argumentative staff and manager
Flashy Urban Hip Sushi Spot!
by jaymaygm
RA Sushi is great. Is it a club, a restaurant, or just the usual L.A. hot spot! It's all of this and more. Located in the ultra modern 1010 Condo Building, it's crowded every night. Loud music, loud conversation, and a see and be seen scene. We loved it. They have a great signature sushi and sashimi menu. With indgrediants such as eel sauce, Kochjan chili ponzu and lotus root. We started with the ultra delicious sashimi plates of chili ponze yellowtail. Presented carpaccio style. And yes we did the touristy Viva Las Vegas Roll. It's a tempura-battered roll of kani kama and cream cheese, toppped with spicy tuna, crab, and shaved lotus root. What a mouthful. Coctails here rein supreme. Some guests are just here for drinks and the social scene. Which is hopping. Try the Ra Pleasure(vodka, melon, black rasberry, sake and fruit juices on ice). Check these guilty pleasures out for yourself!
- Pros: Good Sushi, Great People Watching!
