One of Buford Highway's true Chinese treasures..
In Short
Buford Highway is tough to navigate--many names are similar, but virtually unpronounceable while others boast the same name but change the number like Pho #1 and Pho #69. Enter: easy to pronounce, easy to remember, Bo Bo Garden. This shiny converted Korean Barbecue serves Cantonese food that’s one part Wan Lai and one part Canton Cooks. (This means it’s good.) Traditional Chinese casseroles come out sizzling in clay pots, with bone-in chicken and taro root playing teammate with rice that crisps up as you eat, sort of like what you’d get in sizzling rice soup. Watercress dumplings in 3 dumplings soup steal the show while salt and pepper pork spare ribs are crispy-fried outside but tender-soft inside. Garlic-y snow pea leaves and super-floral chrysanthemum tea are perfect accents. If you have questions, the sweet owners are happy to help. This reward is worth the risk, ethnic food fans.
