AWFUL FOOD. The ambiance in this place is a bit weird, very brightly lit and kind of a cross between a diner and a mid-scale, casual restaurant. That would have been OK if the food had been good, but is wasn't. My friend and I had moussaka and the spinach and feta pie. Neither one tasted or looked fresh. The pie had WAY too much spinach and hardly any phyllo crust. I can honestly say the frozen spinach and feta pie from Trader Joe's is better than what was served here. To add insult to injury, their Greek wine (at $10 per glass) tasted like watered down cheap white wine. Avoid this place.
Average Greek, In Large Digs!. A good friend of mine, said she found a great Greek restaurant, and this was during the Greek Festival. The building is large, a former Roadhouse. Upon entering, we were seated immediately. The walls were covered with faux squares of marble. Do all Greek restaurants use this to finish the interiors? Greeted by the waiter, and presented a large menu. We started with a grilled seafood medley. I asked if it was served with a sauce on the side, and it was not. The dish was very bland, and the calamari was very tough. The menu was so large, we were having a hard time, making a decision on an entree. The waiter kept bugging us about making a decision for an entree. My date is a diabetic, and choose a large salad, covered with Gyro Meat. I had the Moussaka, it was made with ground beef only, no lamb, and covered with what appeared to be a Greek version of Marinara? A salad was served with all entrees. Our waiter brought the salads, and as soon as we took a bite, the entree's arrived. We felt rushed. I've had Stouffer's, that was better. . And a few minutes later while still eating, he dropped off the check. Yes, we were rushed. What happened to the old Niko's on Cheshire Bridge, from my childhood? Will not return!
