Where was this place 10 years ago???.
If this place had been open when I was living on Georgia Tech's West Campus back in the early 2000's it would have been big trouble. But, on second thought, perhaps it's a blessing, because I'm not sure how the phone call home would've gone..."Mom, I'm out of money. I spent it all on unbelievably delicious doughnuts....and milk." I probably would've been forced to move back home, and that would've really ruined my entire college experience.
So when I say that these doughnuts are life-alteringly good, I mean it. So far I've tried the A-Town Creme, the S'mores, the red velvet, and the Oreo - and each is better than you could ever hope for. The challenge is to exercise the discipline it takes in order to eat them slowly enough to fully enjoy them. Good luck with that.
Delicious From-Scratch Donuts!. The owner is very nice and customer care oriented. The doughnuts are great. Can't ask for too much more!
Doughnuts get a gourmet upgrade off 14th Street..
In Short
Despite being located in a generic strip-center on the West side of Georgia Tech, it is obvious everything youthful owner-baker-server Kamal Grant does, is tasteful. He wears a chef’s apron, serves glass bottle cokes and French presses his coffee, spells doughnuts the proper way and all of his to-go boxes have a “Hand Crafted By: Kamal Grant” signature. And the doughnuts flat rock. They have the look of doughnuts but taste like the best pastry you’ve ever had. Among the 25 types lies the traditional, (hot cross bun) the creative, (Reese’s peanut butter cup) the fresh fruit-enhanced (chocolate banana fritter) and the decadent (frosted croissant). Yes, you read that right, frosted croissant. While straddling the line of almost-too-much, Grant’s sugar bombs are just fluffy enough to not seem heavy until after you’ve blissfully inhaled about four. Our advice: No more than two at a time.
Hands Down Best Doughnuts in Atlanta. I was a die-hard Krispy Kreme fan for my entire adult life until I tried these one-of-a-kind doughnuts. I still love Krispy Kreme -- but they don't have the Heath Bar Crunch doughnut. Or the chocolate raspberry fritter. Or the peanut butter cup doughnut. How about a glazed croissant? Unbelievable. There's only one Sublime Doughnuts, but it's worth the drive over to 10th St. to check it out.
