Your pet has been there for you through your toughest days, and although it is a painful decision to make, euthanasia is often the kindest gift you can give to your pet. It is an end to their pain and suffering. Euthanasia performed in your home allows you to control every aspect of your pets final moments. Many pets experience fear and anxiety when visiting the veterinarian's office. In-home pet euthanasia can make this difficult experience more intimate and peaceful, as well as more comfortable for your pet. We offer an alternative that may be better suited to your unique needs. At Sweet Dreams, we understand that your pet is a cherished member of your family, and we will treat them with the love and gentleness we would give our own. At the time of euthanasia, each family will receive a clay paw print to remember their beloved pet. …
My beloved 15-year-old cat, Ewok lost his last battle with IMHA. He was miserable but I dreaded packing him into a carrier and letting him die in a clinical setting. I called Sweet Dreams. Dr. Crowder and Jessica arrived promptly. Dr. Crowder consulted our veterinarian to confirm the diagnosis and obtain any information she needed for a peaceful passing. Ewok passed into the light on his own bed with his family at his side. Peaceful, secure, and relaxed. I highly recommend Sweet Dreams when the time comes to relieve a pet's suffering.
Everything they say is true.
My cat of 17 years, Patches, had recently started acting strangely. I suspected the worst and googled, "old cat dying." I found that most of the symptoms that I was seeing in my little buddy were indeed those of an old cat dying.
But I was still in denial and hoped for the best. I called the vet at Sweet Dreams and she confirmed that he was indeed on his way out and it was time to do the most compassionate thing I could for him. So I made an appointment.
They showed up exactly on time. They took the time to listen to what was going on, made friends with Patches and let me take as much time as I needed to say goodbye. I was able to save him the stress of taking a car ride to the vet and dealing with dogs and strangers. He passed on to a better place while in my arms. If I had to do it again, God forbid, I'd call Sweet Dreams in a heartbeat.
Worth every penny. I can't say enough good things about this entire process today, thank you both SO MUCH! The experience was peaceful and perfect for both me and my cat. Having been through this at home with Sweet Dreams, I will never ever put a pet down in a vets office ever again. It was wonderful and not the slightest bit scary for either of us. Well worth every penny to have a positive, peaceful memory of her last moments. Thank you so much Sweet Dreams!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much for the kind letter regarding Sparky. It has been one of the toughest weeks of my life. It gives me great comfort knowing he was able to go in his own bed and in my arms. You guys were great and I truly appreciate it.
Kind and thoughtful.
We cannot say enough good things about Sweet Dreams. Both the vet and her assistant were so kind and compassionate in every way. They did everything they could to make our dear dog's passing painless and gentle. And they were so thoughtful toward us as well. It's such a sad thing, but they didn't make us feel at all uncomfortable for crying our eyes out. I'm so grateful for that.
We are so glad our beloved doggie could be put to sleep in our home. She had a very peaceful end. They gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye. I highly recommend them.
Caring and compassionate.
Sweet Dreams was a life saver for me this past week. My best friend for the past 101/2 years was very recently diagnosed with kidney disease. Affter researching the disease and treatments, I realized we were past any point of reasonable recovery. Cody declined quickly and I struggled with the logistics of letting him go. I knew he was ready and it was the only loveing thing I could do for him to stop his suffering. The problem was I had to get him to the vet (he used to love car rides, but would have be laying in the back of the SUV by himself during the ride), carrying him into the vet's office, signing the paperwork while still holding him so I wouldn't have to put him down on the cold floor, and then putting him on a cold table, having him held down by people he didn't know. While I do love the vet and his staff, all this strees is not what I wanted for Cody and, to be honest, for myself.
I found Sweet Dreams on line, read their website and left a voicemail on Sunday afternoon asking them for a Monday appointment. Even though they don't have office hours on Sunday, Dr. Crowder called back within about 20 minutes. She managed to understand me through my tears and promised to be at the house at 11:00 Monday if I still needed them.
Monday morning came and she and her assistant came as promised, came in sat on the floor and met Cody. They took their time to love on him and put him ast ease as well as myself. Dr. Crowder took time to help me by explaining the guilt I was feeling for not realizing the problem earlier would not have changed the end result - maybe drawn out some treatment, but quality of life would not have changed drastically. They talked with me and explained the process at a pace I could absorb the information. They explained each step as we went, giving me plenty of time talk to him and love on him. After giving him the anesthesia and allowing these drugs to fully take effect, they inserted a catheter. They allowed me to choose the time for the injection - they encouraged me to take my time and just let them know when I was ready.
Cody's passing was calm, comfortable and he was surrounded by people that loved him - one that had loved him for 10 1/2 years and 2 new friends that showed him love for the last hour of his life. This care and love was continued as they took him to be cremated - they treated him as a very loved member of the family. Additionally, Dr. Crowder and her assistant gave great hugs to one broken-hearted owner and made the process a stressless and easy transition for my best friend.
Thank you, Dr. Crowder and staff. You made a really bad day much easier to deal with.
wonderful vet and assistant. In august of this year, my 13 year old golden retriever suffered from cancer and severe hip dysplasia. I love my regular vet, but I just couldn't bear the thought of taking my baby out of the house to go to doggie heaven at her office. I knew I would cry and be very upset and I just wanted her to rest peacefully one last time. I found Sweet Dreams on line and I have to say, I have never met two nicer people. They worked with my schedule, were very prompt.. explained everything slowly, and gave me plenty of time to pet and talk to my dog beforehand. Let me add that one of the best things they do is a small sedative initially that just relaxes the dog so they do not really feel the next step. I sat there with my Gracie while they did it and it was just like she was taking a nap. She really seemed to die so peacefully. I had her cremated too and they handled all of that as well. Thank you Dr. Crowder and staff.. you made a sad situation more bearable...
Very Professional and Sympathetic Staff.
One of my dogs had advanced Cancer and Heart/Lung issues, and was only just barely with me. I knew I had to be humane and have her euthanized, but the thought of taking her to the Vet (which scared her) to have it done in a public sterile place like that really to be honest, made me put it off longer than I should have.
I found Sweet Dreams via a search and after reading a couple of reviews, called. The staff was extremely helpful in answer my many questions on at least 3 calls I made. The time came up suddenly when my dog's legs literally gave out completely and the Doctor and Assistant came out to the house right on the time scheduled. They were very caring and took the time to talk to me and calm me down, meeting my other dog, and spending a few minutes with the ill dog. They thoroughly explained what I should expect to happen, and waited until I could handle it before they did the procedure, allowing me a few minutes of alone time with my pet before they did it. The dog was more than ready to "go", and it was no doubt much better and more comfortable for her to have gone to sleep at home. It was certainly better for ME, mentally.
While a home service like this is more expensive than taking your pet to the Vet's office, it's MUCH more comfortable for the pet and you, and it really does make a great deal of difference in how you will handle it afterward. I highly recommend Sweet Dreams to anyone who is faced with having to make this decision, and am glad that while I teetered on the choice, I went ahead and chose them to do it. I'm still going to grieve for a long time, but their staff helped a lot.
Caring, Wonderful Service. I called Sweet Dreams when I found out if was time to put Lacy down. I didn't want my dog's last memory to be in a vet clinic. She had lived in the same house with us for 14 years and she was happiest here at home. Dr. Crowder came to our house on a Saturday when the whole family could be here and talked us through our concerns and gently helped us to realize that we were doing the right thing. Dr. Crowder (Amy) has such a kindred spirit and we could immediately tell that she is passionate about animals and that she could truly sympathize with our grieving. She knew just what to tell the kids to help them find peace with Lacy's passing. Letting go of Lacy was one of the hardest things our family has every dealt with and we feel fortunate that we found Dr. Crowder to guide us through the difficult process. It goes without saying that I highly recommended this company.
