I have to say ... We have enjoyed
Rosebud many times and supported Ron at Field of Greens ... However .... At Family Dog, not so much ... In fact, we will not be back to either restaurant ... We just wanted a plain burger for our 6yr old son - they took the hard line of "no exceptions" and no kids' menu ... Ok, we will take our $135.00 LUNCH elsewhere !!!!!!!!

Terrific Service.
Last Friday night my family ventured out to the Highlands from Marietta. We usually don't visit the area since most of the restaurants are loud and crowded and my husband is very uncomfortable (tall--over 6'8"). My daughter was home for spring break and we decided to try something different. I had taken a Cooks Warehouse cooking class from the chef Ron and he spiked my interest in trying the restaurant. We saw my sister-in-law on Friday and invited her and her boyfriend to join us. She called by brother-in-law and he wanted to join as well. I made reservations for 6 of us. When I showed up, my brother-in-law brought his girlfriend and her son. Now we had 8. All the tables were reserved and there was no way we could squeeze 2 more places in. The host came over and opened the doors to a private room. It was fantastic!!! The concerns of loud and crowded were alleviated. We had a great meal. In addition to the wonderful atmosphere, the food was excellent. We have picky eaters in the family and all 3 of them ordered the fried chicken and enjoyed it. We will definitely be back.

just what Morningside needed!.
While the menu isn't the healthiest, it will def provide you with comfort! I've been for lunch, dinner, brunch, cocktails.. it's always the same degree of excellent service & food. They even play food music. If you really want to be treated as a special guest, you should ask for Donnie.

THE KOBE SLIDERS & FRIED CHICKEN ARE ADDICTIVE!!!!.
I had the kobe beef sliders Thursday and thought I had died and gone to heaven! THEN two days later I had the fried chicken. The DIFFERENCE in THIS CHICKEN is that it is boneless, lightly battered, not greasy, and perfectly seasoned.....as it should! The Chef/Owner walked table to table to check on patrons and their happiness. You can be at home wearing khaki's, shorts, jeans, or a sun dress!; music playing, outdoor patio, inside table, or high top at the bar....make a reservation today!

We liked it a lot.
My brother visited me once and we went to this place called Rosebud for a meal. The food we ordered was savory, which we liked. The service crew was also very pleasant from the moment we entered the restaurant until we left. Everything went fine and I would love going back to this place again.

EXCELLENT Brunch!.
We loved this place! I love the fact that it supports local suppliers and all is very fresh. I got the Belgian Waffle with blueberries and my fiance got the French Toast with Mascarpone. They were both VERY delicious. We also got the Bloody Bart and did not enjoy this as much. It was also very garlicky. I highly recommend this place though.

Good brunch.... that's about it (Ask for Sam- great server!).
Rosebud has really yummy brunch- very tasty selections. I'm in love with the espresso (comparable to my favorite which is at Houston's) and the champagne with blueberry cider. The place is cute chic.
HOWEVER, dinner...... yuck. I've been twice for dinner- the first time I had roasted chicken (they only do this one night a week) and it was by far the best I've ever had. Ever.
The second time I went for dinner I ordered the sale- a white fish that comes with golden beets and apples. Could not have been more disgusting. The flavors don't blend, and the beets actually tasted like dirt. I sent it back and ordered the ahi tuna instead. I'm fine with my tuna rare- but not cold. It comes with a spicy slaw. Disgusting. The flavors in this dish do not compliment eachother at all. Not to mention the bartender does not know how to make a french martini. I had to send that back too. Yuck!
Go for brunch, not dinner.

Ambience is better than the food.
I've eaten several times at Rosebud since I live in the neighborhood. I've yet to be impressed with the food. First time I had a very fatty, dry pot roast; second time, trout --that was OK but was overpowered by the greasy bacon bits on top; last time, an unspectacular Kobe burger (french fries were great, though.) On the other hand, the things I most like about Rosebud are the cozy bar area, exposed brick and friendly, competent servers. All in all, I'll probably go back because it's convenient and the food isn't horrible.

Citysearch Editorial Review.
Fitting in nicely with the neighborhood, Rosebud is a shining culinary spot on the North end of Virginia Highland. With a warm interior and hearty, well-executed menu, Ron Eyester’s restaurant is a cross between a hip bistro (Shaun’s) and quaint local nook (Wisteria). Brick walls, chalkboards and black and white photographs make the space seem classic and established while the menu plays up the cozy, Southern point. Super-creamy pimento cheese gets butter cracker accompaniment, fried chicken comes blanketed with gravy (yet magically retains its crispness) and sides go farm-style with the likes of mac ‘n’ cheese and creamed greens. The menu has just the right amount of variety to please the masses (select cheeses, interesting salads, a stout burger, comforting entrees) without losing the specific vision of the place. This isn’t a new concept, but when it’s done this well it deserves Atlanta’s attention and business.
