Fantastic food and service!

I had gotten a gift certificate for Pomodoro and we went there tonight. I had looked at the menu online and was very happy with it. Many times it's just pasta after pasta and the "Italian" restaurants end up looking like a bad knockoff of a TGIFridays restaurant. This had all of the classics and then some and they were PERFECTLY executed. We had the calamari and the crab cakes to start and both were delicious, fresh and delicious. Too many restaurants overcook their seafood and that was NOT the case here. The calamari was *fresh*, not frozen and flash fried to absolute perfection. Normally I love any type of red sauce but the aioli that came with it was addictive and was finished off with the calamari. My husband got the filet (RARE) and I got the frutti di mare pizza (which is almost impossible to find in Europe - who says that seafood and cheese aren't good together?). Hub's filet was perfectly cooked and HUGE and, get this $21. Hub is way over 6 feet tall and this was too big of a filet for him to finish and it was delicious! My frutti di mare pizza (for the uninitiated, the toppings are mussels, calamari, and shrimp) was cooked well done, as requested, but again, the seafood was *perfectly* cooked and the seafood was FRESH. Nothing was a frozen seafood product. Service was equally as terrific and we will be back again and again. Atlanta, you need to get here. The restaurant is cozy and wonderful and has a great vibe to it. You can even eat outside when the weather is good.
You *need* to go to Pomodoros. It's inexpensive with fantastic food and service. Try it, you'll be hooked!
- Pros: fantastic service and food!
- Cons: none that I found
Delicious Italian Food, Affordable Prices

I discovered this enchanting Italian Restaurant in Virginia Highlands last weekend. As soon as we sat down we were given fresh hot focaccia that was tender and moist. We shared an affordable bottle of wine while eating a healthy portion of fried calamari with zuchinni ($7-8).
Our server was very cordial and quick to answer any questions. We found out that they have a new menu and a recent chef this year. I had the Linguini Frutti di Mare and my friend ate a medium size Margharita Pizza which was hot and crisp with a lot of fresh basil.
We had such a great time, we finished with a Tiramisu and two expressos. I will remember this place for the next time I dine out in Virginia Highlands. Pomodoro is on my list!
- Pros: Service friendly, food is delicious, good place for a date
- Cons: none
Incredible Food, Great Value

We strolled into Pomodoro in the Virgina Highlands the other night to sit on the patio enjoy a glass of wine. We'd heard good things about Pomodoro, but hadn't had the pleasure of eating here before. As an appetizer, we got the Griglio Misto, which was a grilled seafood salad and could have served as our entree it was so large and delicious. For dinner we had the mushroom risotto with seared scallops and Veal Scallopini with Marsala sauce, both which were divine. The service, atmosphere and, of course, the location were all perfect.
- Pros: Authentic Italian
