good food, good location. My husband and I dined on a Tuesday night. We had better service than expected after finding the host was also our server. We felt the signature drinks were okay, but not the best we have tasted. We both enjoyed our appetizer; fig salad and fried green tomotoes. My husband enjoyed my fish course better than his. I thought both the Mahi and the Tilapia were both better than average I would grade the meal at a B+. We used a discount which I was happy about, but not sure I would seek this place about again. If you live in the neighborhood it would be easy choice. I would prefer to hang out on the patio for a few appetizers and drinks with friends than an intimate dinner.
Don't set yourself up for disappointment!!!!. The first time I had dinner at Mosaic Restaurant, I thought I had discovered a cool intimate boutique restaurant with an amazing outdoor patio. Strangely, there were very few dinner guest seated. I shrugged it off as an “OFF NIGHT”. But oddly, how can every visit be an “OFF NIGHT”??? Being in the service industry for 30 years, I thought the service at the time was adequate but the Kobe Beef Sliders were amazing! Last evening, I had a business meeting with some clients and thought we were guaranteed to find some quiet space in a prime Buckhead location. Yes, again an “OFF NIGHT”! To my surprise, from beginning to end, it turned out to be the most dreadful dining experience I’ve EVER endured in my many years of dining out. I dine out frequently and consider myself a concierge of restaurant knowledge, keeping up with all the latest and greatest, but still loyal to the smaller venue’s. The only thing CONSISTANT about the service was the perpetual rudeness that seemed to spill over into the lack of placement for both food AND drink to each dining patron. NOT ONCE OR TWICE, EVERY TIME! We literally sat in the dark until we asked the waiter to light a table candle. I tried very hard to ignore not only the lack of service but his deliberate discourteous display of behavior. While trying not to set the tone for the evening, we were continuously stunned with each interaction. While eating, you heard the irritable, sarcastic whining of his disgruntlement, “Another…Coupon” With that said, we ate there because I, too, had a $25 off coupon. Afterward, I fully regret suggesting the place. Jody Dean (owner) wake up! Put the pad lock on the door and give the place back to the bank. You’ve obviously used very poor judgement in your management skills. I’d like to see your restaurant succeed but as is... “IT SUCKS BIG TIME”! I will not ever eat there again. Foodies and potential customers “BEWARE” when the place looks empty. It IS for a reason!!! Don’t set yourself up for disappointment as I have done.
We keep going back again and again!. We have eaten at Mosaic many times, and it is one of our very favorites. The staff is friendly, courteous and personable. We come away feeling like we have been an honored guest in someone’s beautiful Buckhead home! I think we have tried everything on the menu and been delighted with each selection. They also have a creative cocktail list and wonderful desserts. Enjoy!
Awesome Gem!.
I love Mosaic!! I've been twice since I moved in Feb. and I can say I am glad I found this hidden Buckhead Gem!
The waitress are Super Friendly and made Great Recommendations! The Drinks were Fabulous and we will be back sooner than later!
Nice atmosphere. Limited Selection. The menu is short, one page. I really didn't find anything I liked on the main course list. However, I found 2 appetizers, and my wife found one and they were large enough for the 3 of us to make a meal out of.
AWFUL!. Went there on a Thursday night with girlfriends. There was a speed dating event there and the place was understaffed. We ordered some pinot grigio- they didn't have any. I ordered Ketel One and tonic-they didn't have that. We ordered calamari and hummus off the appetizer menu...sure enough they didn't have calamari. We got something else instead and 2 portions were brought when we only ordered one. Hummus was absolutely atrocious! Like chick peas mashed straight out of the can, no seasoning. And on top of that Ranch dressing that they dared calling "cucumber sauce"- Gross!! We were asked if we wanted additional pita bread. We agreed, but it didn't come for a long time. We got it with our check. The bartender girl was new but she did the best she could with the situation and was actually pleasant. She was bartending and waiting tables and no one else helped her. All 3 of us were given $10 certificates off our next visit, which we'll never use. This is absolutely the worst restaurant I've ever been to. It was so bad, i went to Crystal's and got a couple of chicks just to get that Hummus taste out of my mouth. If you want Mediterranean in that neighborhood, go to Basil's, it's just around the corner.
Sunday mamosa in a great atmosphere, that's here!!. SO CUTE!! I was actually looking for another place on the same street and it wasn't there and I found this place. All though it wasn't very busy it made for a very plesant Sunday brunch for my friends and I! We sat outside where the owner and it looked to be his wife were taking care of the landscape. Not sure if that's a good or a bad thing you decide but, it did not bother us at all. Actually you could tell they put alot of time and take alot of pride in this place! The owner was actually the one who sereved us our food and checked on us as well. Our server was good too! The french toast and shrimp and grits were great! I liked the shrimp and grits here better than Bricktops! Overall it was a great experience and I would recommend it for sure especially for Sunday mamosas. I can't wait to go back when the leaves start to change colors!!
Great atmosphere and attentive customer service. What a find off the beaten path! My husband and I were staying at a 4 star hotel downtown and mentioned to our driver we had read a nice review on Mosaics. The driver commented he had met the new owner and also recommended the restaurant. Quite a cozy candlelit atmosphere! The entire staff was very knowledgeable of the menu and wine pairing. We met chef Darryl because we so enjoyed the night's appetizer - spicy tuna sushi and the main courses of lobster ravioli and his trout dish. It was so nice to have a personal touch and service with a smile! Definitely returning for the Sunday Brunch everyone is talking about.
excellent service, good food. I've had two special occasion, one dinner and one brunch here and both turned out very nicely. The meal and wine were really good, and our servers were extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. Mosaic is a nice spot for a low key date or family dinner.
