Thieves!.
Stay away from Corner Tavern unless you like getting ripped off. I just found out this week that the tips go to the restaurant owner and not the servers.
Yes, you may pay the same amount, but it's still unethical. 100% of the tip money should go to the servers. If the restaurant is not making enough money, they should be upfront about it and charge more - not be sneaky and steal your money.
Great Service!. I went here with a group of friends after the terrible service we received at Cafe Circa next door. The host welcomed our party in and gave us top service even though we only ordered drinks and played pool! I will be going back to try their food.
A good time if your inthe area.
I visited the Corner Tavern on Edewood and Boulevard this saturday for the first time. I had been to the other location in Little 5 points before and though it was pretty cool.
I had a blast this time though, the drinks were great (although I stuck to the PBR's mostly!) the food was good, especially the fries. The location and atmosphere were great too. The staff were brilliant, especially at keeping seperate tabs on the 20 of us that showed up was great. (I hate it when a group sit down together have food/drinks/play pool etc and then they bring 1 check for your group to work out.) We played Pool and ran the Jukebox everything was in perfect working order so a GREAT time was had by all.
I'm certainly reccommending this place to anyone looking to have a good time in the neighborhood.
The food is as good as the drinks!. My boyfriend and I eat at Corner Tavern Edgewood at least once a week and we love the food, the friendly staff, the music, the dart boards, the comfy vibe. Everything we've tried has been well-prepared which is saying a lot in this town of trendy food prepared poorly. The black bean burger will truly satisfy even the carnivores. The beer selection is great. You must go try it. We want them to stay in the neighborhood.
Lofty bar in the Old Fourth Ward does a huge American micro-brew selection and scarf-able eats..
In Short
The Edgewood Corner Tavern represents exactly what a good local watering hole is supposed to be. A partially rusted neon sign welcomes O4W residents; ketchup and mustard sit on communal tables in those familiar bright bottles, and the gritty-artistic-looking bartender will be happy to wax about the 100 American microbrews behind the L-shaped bar. The menu is a little far-reaching with everything from specialty salads to steaks, but shines in the bar-food-cornerstones category. Sandwiches are steamed rather than toasted, giving buzzed patrons the ability to inhale the soft subs in record time. French fries are hand-cut, showing snippets of peel through the dusting of salt and spices, and can be accompanied with sauces like wasabi-mayo and curried-ketchup. Head to the upstairs loft where darts, pool tables and a jukebox can provide some secluded entertainment.
