BEWARE
by Henry County Shopper
I WILL NEVER SHOP HERE AGAIN. May 21, 2012. I went to this store to purchase my daughter a Pandora Bracelet and charm. After deciding on which items to purchase, which totaled over $200, the sales person asked if i wanted the items gift wrapped. I said sure that would be great. She said okay and hit another key on the register. I asked if there was a charge for gift wrap and she stated "yes $1.25." I was shocked that there was a charge for gift wrap for a purchase of over $200, which consisted of a small bag (lunch bag size) and some tissue paper. (I know its only $1.25, its the principal). I laughed and asked if she was serious a $1.25, she asked me what was funny about gift wrap with a RUDE attitude. I told her nothing was funny about it, that I found it irritating that there was a charge for gift wrap for a purchase of over $200 of $1.25. ( If you are going to charge for something like gift wrap notify your customer before you ring it up.) Less than 30 seconds after she rang up my merchandise ( and I really mean less than 30 secs), I decided that I did not want to purchase the bracelet from that store or that salesperson, She informed me that she could only give store credit. (By the way I made a purchase in this same store for Mothers Day for $190.) I told her I did not want store credit I wanted a refund, and she stated it was store policy. I told her that if she did not give me a full refund then I would never shop there again. After a brief discussion, she kept my money, I left and will never return to this store again.
I have 2 daughters, a wife, sister and mother with these types of bracelets, and make purchase every few months for one reason or another, however I will drive the extra mile to purchase these items and stay as far away from this store as possible in the future.
They say word of mouth advertising is the best form or advertisement, and I plan on giving this store plenty of it!!!
Unduly harsh customer treatment

Today (May 15), I was shopping with my preteen daughter in this store for very specific and fun teacher gifts and a special birthday gift. We have been in this store before and know that it sells unique items. We made a special trip, driving 30 minutes to the store. I had recommended this shop to friends before, and, until today, would have continued to do so.
While we were there, my daughter was looking at some scarves. She unfolded a couple to see what they looked like. She was within my eyesight and my ear shot. A sales person approached her and said, "If you are going to play with those, the least you could do is fold them back up the way you found them. Go the extra mile."
Go the extra mile??????
My daughter quickly put the scarf back and walked five steps over to me with tears in her eyes.
To be certain, I asked my daughter if she had just waded them up when she put them back. She said that she was not playing with them and had tried to fold it the way we fold towels at home.
I spoke with the sales clerk about the issue, and apologized if we had caused her stress in looking at the scarves. She offered a forced smile, and stated, "All I did was ask her to fold them when she put them back", as if I could not hear what was said or my daughter could forget such a curt rebuke.
It was completely unnecessary, unduly harsh, and eliminated our purchases today and in the future. No amount of unique and upscale merchandise is worth basic disregard and seething annoyance toward the customers.
I'll Never Go Back!

I won't be returning to this business after today's experience. I went to the store to buy my mother a gift for mother's day. I found an item, purchased it, and later went back to return it when I found something better. I specifically asked the woman if I paid with cash and the item went on my mother's account (they keep track of the items they have purchased) if she could return it. She said I could return the item if I needed to. She never went on to say that you only get a store credit. I didn't find out about this store's policy until I went to return the item that same day. It wasn't until that moment that she chose to point to the little picture frame posted on the wall (not in a place that people tend to look!) with the return policy. She never mentioned you can only get store credit and there was nothing close to me that stated it. Not to mention once you get the receipt with the policy on it, it is too late! Not only did she refuse to give me back my money but she then went on to call me a LIAR saying that i never asked if it could be returned. She was RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL. Sadly, this is not the first time she has ever been rude to me. I will NEVER return to this store again and I don't recommend it!
Return Policies

In response to saveyshopper11 - having previously worked in retail for a long stint, refund/exchange policies are pretty standard, especially among smaller businesses such as this one. Returnable doesn't mean the same thing as refundable - and regardless of what was said verbally, whatever is printed on the receipt or perhaps on the wall of the store is what they will go by. Verbal agreements do not stand in the business world if there's a policy in writing somewhere, especially on the receipt.
Proceed with CAUTION!!!

Be very careful when shopping this store. My husband spent approximately $300 on a gift for me with the promise from the salesperson in the presence of the owner, stating it was returnable if his wife did not like it (as long as she did not wear it). As a man shopping, he just took her word for it prior to buying. When he tried to return it in brand new condition, as it was NEVER worn, the owner stated it was not refundable, only store credit. My husband stated he was not told that to which the owner replied, you should have asked! Really?? Like a man shopping for his wife is responsible for specifically asking using the word, refundable, credit back, cash back, etc..? Yes, the receipt states this, but the verbal statement/promise was made uh..prior receiving the receipt. Talk about deceptive. Now I have $300 dollars to spend in a store where the owner practically kicked him out of the store, was extremely RUDE as he only tried to get her to back her word, which apparently is meaningless!!!
