“If you're looking for a great place to take your dog on your busier days, Lucky Dog Lounge is definitely the place!”
Our puppy was killed here.....
We brought our small puppy to LDL for 10 days while we went on vacation.
When we dropped Sammy off, we noticed several big dogs swarming the gate as we arrived, my wife was a bit fearful about leaving our dog with such big dogs, but Kris assured us our puppy would be fine and that she did not keep aggressive dogs (her web site even states that) so we left Sammy in her care and the last thing she told us was do not worry, our puppy will have great fun here.
We called several times to check on sammy before we left on the cruise, and was told she was having fun, some small dogs were there to play and all was good, we called again on the following Wednesday, before were due back in New Orleans, and got no answer but left a message.
Once we docked in New Orleans on Thursday, we called to check on Sammy again and to inform we would be there Friday morning to pick her up. That is when the unimaginable was told.
The previous Sunday, one of the dogs also being kept at LDL had attacked our puppy and killed her.
We were informed that when Kris found the body it was still warm, so it had just happened no long before. That is all we know of the story, Kris explained she does not know how or what happened, nor which dog murdered her, all that we know is a place which was to be a safe, fun place to play for our Sammy turned into a nightmare because of an unidentified aggressive dog, that may or may not still be housed there, because no one knows which dog killed our Sammy.
NO!!! My dog was struck and injured by a car!!!. My two dogs had been going to the Lucky Dog Lounge for over a year, and to be honest they really liked going...although I have to admit I was always leery of how close to Highway 41 the lounge was. A little over 4 weeks ago (April 9, 2009), my worst fears came true. My young lab somehow got out of the fence and was struck and injured by a car. His pelvis was broken and required surgery to repair. I found out from the men that brought my dog into the emergency clinic he had been struck and injured by a car. Yes, my lab is recovering, but he and my other dog will not be returning to Lucky Dog Lounge. This has been a horrible experience for both him and me!
