awful service, surly attitudes. I dined at Alpha Soda tonight for the second time, Friday Feb 15., my first experience went fine of course there were only three tables in the restaurant at the time. Tonight, however, was a completely different story, I unfortunately brought my family, who are visiting from Chicago, so I was both embarrassed and mad when my grandmother ordered a drink from the bar and first the waiter told us they were out of that beverage, until it was pointed out that there was a bottle of it sitting behind the bar, then he told us that only the manager could mix drinks. We waited 15 minutes for the manager who informed us, "Everyone is out with the flu and I'm doing 8 jobs right now." He did get the drink, however, he proceeded to slam the drink down on the table. My father ordered chicken and got roast, my mom never got her soup and I ordered to go food which was all wrong. It went from bad to worse and frankly nobody cared. To bad for Alpha Soda, there are way to many restaurants in this area where even if they might mess up from time to time, they actually care if you're not happy. If anyone asks for a good place to eat, I would say anywhere but

Alpha Soda.

Setting nice but food and service a miss. A local raved about this place stating it was their favorite lunch in Alpharetta. The place makes a good impression upon entry with its charming Art Deco interior but the gruff greeting was an intimation of things to come. The surly waiter seemed indifferent to my prescence and when the food finally did arrive it was neither warm nor fresh. Worst of all everything was tainted with a subtle fishy flavor which would have been less unnerving had i ordered fish instead of beef. The waitstaff and kitchen both dissapointed. Needless to say it was a big let down once I got past the facade. Look elsewhere for the best meal in Alpharetta- this assuredly is not it.

seemed like a nice place...always packed...but when we got there. they were under staffed. my wife ordered the red snapper and the waitress didn't bring any lemons and didn't return until the check (my wife likes lemon with her fish) so she (my wife) basically didn't eat the dish.

i picked out the restaurante because online I saw that they had ribeye. I love a good ribeye. I ordered the ribeye but what the brought was a NY strip and it was covered in some garlic sauce. when I asked them to check with the cook if the steak was a ribeye or strip (you could tell by the size and the hard layer of fat on the outer part of the steak that it was a strip plus there was no marbeling or fat in the meat...) - the waitress came back and said it was a strip that they were out of ribeye and thought I wouldn't mind.

now, not accusing...but a strip is cheaper than a ribeye.

anyhow, we won't be going back... it could just be random chance and bad luck, but i'd rather (in the south, atleast) go to a local restaurant ONLY if with a local or just stick to corporate chains.

We're not in brooklyn!

Delicious!. We primarily go to Alpha Soda for their wonderful breakfasts, but we have also eaten there for lunch. The food is just great. Probably my only complaint is that the waitress that we typically have is very good with getting our order quickly, keeping drinks filled, etc., but I don't think I've ever seen her smile. She's not rude, but she seems very serious.

Editorial Review. Oldest standing building in Alpharetta serves contemporary American dishes with traditional Southern influence in 1920s-style art deco diner.

Considerate Management!. I had written a negative evaluation of this restaurant based on the poor service we received on two occassions. I wrote the restaurant and recieved a heart felt apology for what happened to us. I appreciate them taking the time to do that and I will give Alpha Soda another visit soon.
