Just wow.. We ate take out at this establishment weekly and the food was usually pretty good. The last time was really the LAST time. I ordered the Greek nachos. It's a good thing I looked at the chicken on my fork before I ate it because it was RAW. One side appeared to be cooked like it had been browned in a pan, but the other side was completely raw. After looking through, other pieces were also raw. When we called and spoke to a manager, he was barely apologetic, and actually said that the kitchen was very busy that evening. My husband and I both worked at restaurants in college, so we never complain or call a manager unless it really warrants it. It's a shame that the Pleasant Hill location closed recently. They were much better.
5 stars? Really?. The food was decent... after waiting an hour and a half to get it. I almost missed my movie because the "chef" messed up my order and didn't know I was close enough in distance to see him make a rude comment about the food I ordered when he was the one who screwed it up to begin with. I love Greek cuisine, and I KNOW food, so the fact that said it was 100% fresh is a joke. The artichokes were obviously pre-packaged and the pizza dough tasted like they picked it up from Kroger. I asked them their grade since it was hidden and the host rudely responded "Well we have an 85 right now". I'm thinking to myself how did ya'll get a score that high? I won't ever go back and I won't recommend it to anyone.
Fire in the Hole!. "How about some fire, Scarecrow." Well, if it's lighting up some Saganaki at Athens Kouzzina at Discover Mills, count me in!!! It looks cool and tastes even better. One time, I ordered two - one as my appetiser and one as my lunch. Life is good, baby!
Delicious!. It's so hard to find good gyros in the south, but this place does them right! They actually use lamb! So many places use beef, which just doesn't taste right at all. There's a whole bunch of other stuff on the menu that taste good too, like a wide variety of pastas. The servers are generally good at getting the dishes prepared just the way you want. Oh, and they got Coke Zero now!!
Love the Style, Love the Location. This is such a unique place. To have a great Greek place IN a mall is soooooo cool. The bar is the best part because you can eat, drink, and be looking right at the kitchen. Very cool!!
Best pizza outside of Chicago!!. I love it!! This place is great! I haven't had pizza this good since I left Chicago 3 years ago. I've been back 4 times now and haven't found anything I didn't like. I am a lamb lover, so the gyros and braised lamb shank were big hits for me. My wife loves the pastas and my kids get a real kick out of the Flamming Saganaki appetizer which is Greek cheese flambed right at your table. Opa! Great food and tons of fun for the whole family. With the AMC right next door it makes a great spot for "dinner and a movie" night.
GOOD Gyros at Discover Mills. Watch a move, eat awesome greek food. Convenient, unique, and the best of both worlds. Athens Kouzzina is GREAT!
Great Greek at the Mall. Normally, when I go the mall (in this case, Discover Mills), I expect a food court (check), a pretzel place (check), and a Chili's (check). What I didn't expect was to find a top-of-the-line Greek restaurant (CHECK!). Athens Kouzzina is located right by the AMC theaters and it is great. Cool par, awesome food, convenient location. Sorry AMC, I'm not buy popcorn there - I'm saving my appetite for Athens Kouzzina.
