Owner
Flip Flops is a Jimmy Buffet Caribbean style neighborhood bar in Atlanta, conveniently located in the heart of Midtown. It resides in a 2 story old southern house on Crescent Ave, next to South City Kitchen and directly across the street from Opera Nightclub. Flip Flops brings the beach to you with a frozen daiquiri bar of 9 flavors on tap, similar to Margaritaville, Fat Tuesdays and Wet Willies. The beach theme includes tiki huts, palm trees and a great outdoor patio. It is a casual atmosphere where you can relax and listen to the best live music downstairs or join the dance floor upstairs…

In Short – Party like it's spring break, all year long! This tropical bar is geared for the just-graduated, popped-collar set, which makes sense because good-looking Southerner, and former college bar tycoon, Ace-from-Real-World-Paris is the man behind the joint. Lodged next to another beautiful, old two-story house (South City Kitchen), this brightly-colored enclave invites Crescent bar-crawlers in for a beach-y good time. There is nightly acoustic music, multiple types of booze-loaded slush-puppy machines, palm trees and patios. While this might confuse the well-dressed Midtowners on…

if you want to relive a frat party...
by casanee
I think I may have liked this place as a freshman in college- but to spend too much money to relive a beach themed frat party is not my thing. P.S. Don't wear anything nice...take advice from the name "Flipflops."
- Pros: best college bar?
- Cons: drunk frat-tastics
Awesome, awesome bar
by rathaus
Though it's dwarfed by neighbors Opera, Cheetah Lounge, etc, This little beach-bar is exactly what Atlanta needs. The owners are friendly, the bartenders are attentive, and the drinks are strong. Behind the bar sit a long row of frozen drink machines, all mixed to perfection. The live music on select nights is fantastic, and the crowd is young and attractive.
Definitely check it out.
- Pros: Pros: Great Environment, Great drinks
- Cons: Cons: A little out of place
The Details on Flip Flops
Parking:
There is a few spots on the street, but play on using a pay lot.
What to Drink:
Of the slushpuppy concoctions, the Gator Hater (which tastes exactly like lemon lime Gatorade) is a popular option.
