“She said black people are dirty!”
On a recent visit with four girlfriends
recently we were in the middle of showering and one our girlfriends was rinsing out an undergarment when she was confronted by a spa worker who asked her not to use the bar soap to do this with - explaining other people use that soap - it was a bar of soap. Our friend explained that the bar soap was regularly used on skin-to-soap contact and that it stood more of a chance to become contaminated doing that. She also pointed out that there were no signs stating that undergarments not be rinsed out in the shower. She further suggested that Jeju consider supplying only liquid soap dispensers, or single use soap bars, like hotels and motels, which were overall safer when it comes to transferring contaminants. With that the employee left.
My girlfriend continued to shower when this employee came back and saw her still holding the undergarment in her hand in the shower. The Jeju employee became quite indignant and irritated and yelled at our friend who was only holding the undergarment for not wanting to lay them down on the shower floor. At this point she asked our friend to leave immediately, and the other three in the group (including me and a small child) were told to leave since we were all together.
Somewhere in all this Diane, the manager became involved. We did nothing to warrant this mistreatment by Jeju. Further, and the most disgusting part, security was called and a male security person by the name of Tony entered the locker room. I was nude as well as one of my friends! I asked him to leave that we were naked and he said I could not tell him where he could go. This was very humiliating to experience.
This whole disgusting event was totally uncalled for and highly embarrassing and stressful for all us attending. I am considering legal action. There was a purposeful invasion of privacy when the spa allowed a male to enter the locker room with naked females present. It was beyond embarrassing. We all paid for 24 hours and were told we would not get a refund. Diane was laughing when we left but believe me there was nothing to laugh at. I question her ability and skills to manage this establishment properly.
So if you want to possibly be humiliated beyond reason then go to this spa which is run by highly unreasonable people. This is not how we do business in America. We expect to be heard, and a modicum of respect. I wish everyone would protest this place and boycott participation in their business.
Little Gem!. First off, DON"T leave your valuables unattended (to the reviewers that had goods stolen). WHY would you fall asleep with valuables unattended to? Jeju provides spa services NOT security services. Would you fall asleep and leave your valuables unattended on the street corner? I don't think so. Duh. Besides that, I love this place! Body scrubs and other services great! Cucumber facial, refreshing! If you have a bad, stressful day, this is the place to go. I escape there and can spend hours in the steam sauna and jacuzzis alone. I also love the sit-down shower areas. Don't tell too many about this place, you'll want to enjoy it by yourself and w/o running into others. lol!
My favorite Spa in the Alt Metro Area.
I find this spa to be most enjoyable. I love the 24 hour policy. I have gone alone and enjoyed the serenity for more than eight hours. I have taken my sons (22 & 19 yrs of age)
I have taken friends- all felt the same. We are Black, proud, and love our heritage. We have never had a negative experience with anyone. I LOVE this Spa!
DO NOT BRING ANY VALUABLES!.
I seriously WOULD NOT RATE THIS PLACE ANYTHING!
This place has horrible service! My family and I came from NC to visit this place because the rumors sounded too good to be true. When we came to visit, my sister had lost her Galaxy S Vibrant phone. We slept out in the main hall right under the one and only surveillance camera. So logically, one would ask the manager to see the video that was recorded overnight. She refused to show it to us even though we told her the exact location and time that we suspected it to be missing. The thing is, I was the last one to fall asleep and when I did I looked at the clock to see that it was 3:30 AM. Then, my mom said she woke up around 6:00 AM. Therefore, it was within two and a half hours that someone stole my sister's phone. We suspected there was a higher chance an employee was our suspect since everyone else was sleeping around that time but we couldn't find out for sure because the manager would not let us see the video footage. Amidst all this, I caught the manager talking to another woman who seemed to have had her shoes gone missing. All the manager did for this lady was ask for her name and number and promised she'd get back to her as soon as possible and gave up her own shoes. She asked for our info too but because we were from a different state, we ended up calling the police. Now, the police weren't very helpful but they promised that they would look over it themselves and report if there was anything wrong. However, it's been 5 days and still no contact from them. My guess, they didn't even have their cameras rolling. Therefore refused to show us anything because they COULDN'T! If you don't want anything (and I mean ANYTHING) stolen DO NOT GO TO THIS SAUNA! Apparently, it's happened a couple times before too. I've seen similar situations in other reviews.
Guard your belongings!.
Jeju Sauna was probably state of the art when it was built but is now dated, especially in the bathing area. More importantly, you must be very careful! My daughter's new Ipod Touch was stolen while we were sleeping in the main hall. Also, a woman who had slept near us said someone went through her bag and stole her food.
The Manager did take our name/phone number, but did not seem too shocked that this had happened. Perhaps it is not an unusual occurrence at this spa????
When I first walked into the building, I knew I was in for a pleasant ride. The artchitecture of the building itself is quite stunning, and reflects on the hard work the owners must have gone through.
Then, when going through what they call the "wet area", showering, getting scrubbed, and getting massaged, I knew I'd be coming back. The entire experience, including dining, massaging, exercising, and resting, was something I only dreamed of doing. I will be going back, and I'm thankful for the experience!
WARNING!! THIS PLACE IS DIRTY!!!.
I see more of American people going to JeJu but do you really know what you are getting into?
YOU HAVE NO IDEA!
THIS PLACE IS DIRTY! AND THE OWNER MS. LEE AKS"SUNSHINE" HATES BLACK PEOPLE!!
She calls black people the "N" behind their back and laughs with their staffs! She said black people are dirty! They'll take your money but really you are wasting your money!
THE MOP THEY USE TO CLEAN MEN AND WOMEN'S BATHROOM FLOOR WITH, THEY USE THE SAME MOP TO CLEAN THE ROOMS AND THE FLOOR WHERE YOU AND YOUR FAMILY SIT AND EAT!!! THAT UNSANITARY! THAT IS DISGUSTING! Most people comes there late but I was there early and saw it! I was VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! THE PILLOWS YOU LAY YOUR HEAD IS UNSANITARY AS WELL! IT'S FULL OF OTHER CUSTOMERS SWEAT AND THEY NEVER CLEAN IT SO YOU CAN GET SKIN DISEASES FROM THAT!
I am from Korea and I know what it's suppose to be like but Most American's doesn' t know what it's like to go to the real SAUNA!!!
Uniquely Aisan experience in Atlanta. Since I have absolutely no interest in footbal, I visited this spa alone on Superbowl Sunday evening. It was so liberating to be in an environment where no one cared about nudity and the human body is not sexualized. I spent hours there enjoying the saunas and whirlpools, receiving treatments (I had the body scrub and massage) and relaxed. My body scrub even included a mini facial and a hair and scalp wash with conditioner. In the co-ed room, I had a late dinner and watched a little Korean TV while sitting on the floor between naps. People were enjoying each others company, taking naps on the floor and they even have free Wi-Fi so there were people sitting in quite spots on the internet. This place is amazing; and I felt completely liberated and for a few hours I was not self-conscious at all. I will make this a monthly retreat.
Completely Relaxing.. I recently spent the day at Jeju and had an amazing experience. Each individual sauna was made of a different therapeutic material, all flown in from Korea. We spent hours there-- meditating, swimming, using the workout equipment, getting massages and eating lunch. I'll definitely be going back soon. It's the most unique spa and sauna in town and also the best deal.
Editorial Review by Jonathan Baker. This Korean home of well being has a little bit of everything, including an arcade for kids and a restaurant.
