The City's Best Coffee Shop. Located just steps away from the King Center, along with the rest of the "Freedom Walk", Danneman's takes residency on a corner lot. Vast windows allow for great people watching over a wonderfully poured capp or latte. Small touches like chunks of double chocolate biscotti served with select drinks, old biology classroom tables, and a friendly, non-pretentious staff really set this place apart. Upstairs is a spacious, wood-floored room perfect for housing special events. though downstairs is the place to sip your Joe and read a book from the honor system library.

Historic Edgewood digs serve up joe in a quintessentially cool space.. In Short
Anchoring the corner of Edgewood and Boulevard, this Old Fourth Ward coffee loft evokes shades of Brooklyn-cool; the timeless, warehouse-y frame playing host to early-morning pick-me-ups and evening political pow-wows. Inhabiting what was once a bustling inner-city market during the 1930s, Danneman's pays homage to the historic grocery by keeping the family name in tact--the old metal sign that used to hang on the brick building now wraps the store's coffee counter. One part loft lounge, one part retro workspace, antiques like original grocery baskets and warm, vintage furnishings polish off the downstairs while the second story loft is spacious and study-worthy. Expect the usual java-channeling suspects: coffee, teas and smoothies, plus pastries and house-made sandwiches.
