I initially heard about Shape reading an article about Dr. McKenna's trip to the whitehouse to work with President Obama on Health Care Reform. I am 46 years old and I have had a life long battle with my weight.

When i read the article I was intrigued by the concept of medically supervised weight loss with a nutritional suport. I made an appointment at SHAPE and I have lost 33 pounds in 4 months. I went from a size 16 to an 8. I have more energy and i have never felt better.

Bad Experience

First of all the scale is definitely calibrated to weigh you in 10lbs heavier, I went with my sister and both of us came in at exactly 10lbs over which conveniently translates into an extra month of their weight loss program. We purchased the groupon and received less than 1/2 of the services described with the skinny package. The staff and Dr. rushed us through the process. With medical weight loss I would expect more hi-tech measurements than a BMI calculated with an incorrect weight and a self reported height to realistically track results. They were inconsistent as my sister and I had different experiences (she saw the nutritionist although she wasn't eligible to participate in the program, I didn't and I am eligible to participate... using their scale). Anyway it was horrible and I am thankful I didn't pay full price.

Lost 52 lbs in 5 months

My son is getting married in the begging of 2010 so i wanted to look good for his special day. With the help of SHAPE i have lost 52 lbs and will be treating myself to juvederm as a reward. This is true.. you can see my picture on shape's facebook. Just goto the website and click facebook icon.
