Atlanta >Club Venus
Unsure why all of the negativity but the place was great for us on our first time there. It appears that the other reviews were posted years ago so that may account for things. First, spot is not closed. According to the front desk employee this past Sunday, who was very cool and helpful, they've been operating for 15 years. Best description is that the difference between there and the other "established" club is the cost (less), location (closer to downtown), food/drink (none/BYOB which was better to us), and the people (there were about 50 cool people and maybe 2 weirdos that just harmlessly stared all night but that is low for these venue types). Upon walking in, we were shown into the locker room and given a lock with key (nothing was missing or tampered with as far as we could tell). Beyond there was a sitting room where restrooms were located as well as a large flat screen TV. They are currently renovating the next room which is a smoking lounge. They use a floor fan but the renovation is to put a modern ventilation system in, per the employee. Next, was the dance floor and bar area. Bartender was alcohol custodian that did great and even offered house selections (we brought our own and stuck to that). There were several private rooms, a dungeon, a huge bunk bed room, and a dark room. We had no problems in any of them. Saturdays are apparently much more crowded but Sunday's 50 or so people was plenty for us to watch, engage near, or engage with. Will definitely return.
New Management Please. This place has potential. I have being going for a quite of few years. Over the years the place has declined. Maybe because it need a major upgrade (The sound system just flat out sucks) or better yet a good cleaning. Management need to take some Management 101 classes to say the least (The owner has a major attitude). With new management and cleaning house (as in total revamp)--this place has some potential. Personally I like the dark atmosphere and prefer Venus over the other local spots because it is more low-key. The crowd is hit or miss as well. However ladies couple nights are Saturday Night. If you are single and looking for single males try Friday or Sunday Nights (Sunday Nights are best --especially if you are into BBC)
ugh.... When I first got there I told my friend it looked very ghetto. As the night went on I found the place to be extremly hot. There was fresh paint, but no air. Had small old rusty fans in the small rooms, which wasn't doing anything. The crowd wasn't all that great also. The men was rude and very aggressive. The owner was too. He followed me to a room, and when i told him no he closed the door on me when I was walking out with him. Overall it was a bad experience. I wouldn't go back, and wouldn't want anyone else to waste their money.
D-A-M-N. Let me just say, Its Friday night looking for something new. Ths was not it. I've been in the lifestyle 10 years and this place is not for lifestylers. I should have taken what I read to be the truth. But giving the benifit of the doubt I was sadly mistaken. The place is very dark and more like a dance club. The few ladies that were available were trashy and talked very loud. My wife was disappointed a well. Well I guess I will stay with the larger clubs and the private parties. Just be prepared for a let down
Dont Waste Your Time. Ok let me start with this place is not remotely close to a true swingers club. The place is dark and dungon like. The staff is rude, the owner spent half the night trying to get me in a room. There are 3 times the amount of men vs women which is very uncomfortable & The music does not set the mood.it was more like a strip club. Even thou women get in free The price is very expensive for what you get, I mentioned this to the owner his response was "Well hell go there , I dont care" this attitude is unacceptable. Over all I can not say one single thing nice about this spot sorry bet advice I can give is DO NOT GO.
SLUM. This is an experience I try to forget!!! I m new in town and I tried this place 3 times giving it maybe it was just abad night. My first impression was everything is out dated and worn including the stained mattressess and sheets. The bar is something from the early 80's. Ther is no dj but an ipod with breaks in the music..,,, which is more like club music not the lifestyle. The owner is a JackA** who thinks this place can compete with another well known establishment LOL I dont think so. The men out number the women and follow you around hoping you will give in to the begging. verall I gave this place 3 chances and now they are out. save your money and time go some place else.
The Out of Towners. My hubby and me were attending a conference in Atlanta last weekend and were curious about visiting a swing club in Atlanta close to the Marriott downtown. We hoped a cab on Sunday to Club Venus. When we entered the club it was a little dark and there was no one in the front room. We followed the music past private rooms and the theater to the bar area a casual and clean space filed with people. The group was racially diverse, my hubby and me are white and accustom to an all white swing club, but this was great! The walls were covered with erotic art and flat screen TVs with a different XX flicks on each. The crowed was mostly sociable couples; however, there a few single men and women. The evening slowly went from interesting and open conversations to a good time had by all. Thanks to the lady from Amsterdam and the couple from Maryetta my hubby and me were especially happy by the end of the night around 2:00 AM. What we did not like about the club was no alcohol sold, the music, and the time to get a cab back to the Marriott at 2:00 am. We did not know to bring alcohol and Georgia does not sell alcohol on Sunday. However, several people shared with us. The music was not what we were accustom to, to get in the mood, and cabs in Atlanta do not arrive quickly on Sunday at 2:00 AM. However, we will be back next year.
Not even GHETTO FABULOUS- Straight G-H-E-T-T-O!!. I am a 27 year old, professional, single woman. I have attended ClubVenus twice. I must say that this is the most Ghetto establishment that I have been to in my entire life. Mind you I am an African American and am not boogie in the slightest manner. I like to drop it like it's hot like everyone else. However, I can't believe they actually boast about being a European Club and all their adverts have beautiful blondes and brunettes on them. LMAO!! THIS CLUB LACKS RACIAL DIVERSITY IN A BIG WAY! The first time I attended was during the summer of 09. I couldn't believe that there was really no one in the club on a Saturday Night in the summer. ??? There were only about 10 people in the club during that time and at least 6 were men. They were all very very aggressive and followed me and a girlfriend around the club the entire time. Hoping to get some action. We really just stayed at the bar since it felt like the safest place to go. The second time was this past Saturday Mardi Gras weekend party. I tell you the only thing missing were 40 ounces and some 420(weed). Not to mention there were 2 white men there who looked completely misplaced. Not to mention ONCE AGAIN--SUPER AGGRESSIVE MEN-OUTNUMBERING WOMEN. My biggest concern for this place is that it is a law suit waiting to happen. There are absolutely no security measures in place for single women attending alone. I have frequented many clubs and this is the first one where I would say don't get out of your car by yourself and definitely don't go to the restroom by yourself. I definitely felt threatened and on top of that I saw a man trying to push into the bathroom when a lady was trying to go in. It is utterly RIDICULOUS!! If you are a single woman PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE. Look for a different club or event to attend. Don't waste your money or your time.
