Not what I expected!

I read that Spa 29 was rated as a top spa in Travel and Leisure magazine. Wanted to give my friend a very luxurious pedicure for her birthday. I booked lunch as well, thinking this would really be a nice touch. We booked lunch for 1:00PM and the pedicures for 2:00pm. I told the reservation person that I wanted to arrive at 12:30 for lunch so we would not be rushed. I was told no problem. We arrived at 12:30pm and were given menus to read over in the spa lobby. We asked for lunch recommendations and no one could tell us anything. We ordered our lunch at the spa check in desk and waited 45 minutes to be taken to our room for lunch. We were not finished with lunch when they asked us back for our pedicures. So we had to hurry. Not relaxing at all. We were shown the lockers and told how to use them and given robes to change into. No privacy at all, You are out there for everyone to see. We waited in the relaxation room for a couple of minutes, then were taken to our room for the pedicures. No spa chair or water is used. The leather chairs you sit in are not very comfortable and they just start scraping away on dry feet. Didn't like that at all. I felt like they were doing damage to my feet. They wrap your feet in a wet towel soaked in some kind of oil, but you still do not feel like you are having a $65.00 pedicure. I get a better pedicure at the nail place down the street from my house for $20.00 and I also get a back massage.

I would not recommend this spa for a pedicure. The spa is decorated very nice and maybe other services are worth it, but the crush pedicure is not worth the money.

  • Cons: Not a luxurious pedicure for the money
