In Short – The sleekly designed digs look like Chipotle on a padded budget--uncharacteristic for the 'hood but cool all the same. Giant glass garage doors open up to a modern and spacious outdoor patio framed by light boxes. The menu is what you'd expect from an established chef, peppering taco-stand staples with a little pizzazz. Skip the uber-fried and surprisingly bland chips-and-salsa pairing, and opt for one of their tortas, a Mexican sandwich stuffed and served on a near-perfect roll from Alon's Bakery. Tacos are standard fare at standard price, but the roasted corn on the cobb,…

I have been to Holy Taco several times and I have loved this place. In the past, the food was awesome - completely unlike anything I could find in the city. It was a unique dining experience for which I enjoyed making the trip. However, tonight my experience and the food changed everything. I'm not sure if the chef has changed or if there is a new management team in business, but I had an awful experience. The hostess seated 2 couples infront of us (we were only a party of 2), the guacamole was terribly over spiced, I was served something that I did not order, and I was charged for an organic margarita even though I was served a house one. Our waitress was anything but professional and she made us feel awkward when we questioned our order. We will try Holy Taco again because of our positive experiences in the past, however it will only be one more try. This restaurant (sadly) is not as good as it once was.
- Pros: Example: best croissants in town
- Cons: What are the drawbacks?
Don't bother.

The food was overpriced and mediocre at best. In addition, I am still suffering from stomach issues after eating dinner there last night. The drinks are very overpriced for the small size and amount of alcohol in them. The chips were over cooked and you had to pay for the salsa to come along with them. The guacamole was average, but a bit bland except for an excessive onion flavor to it. The taco I got was tiny and the meat and sauce was extremely bland so that the primary flavor coming through was the cheese. The side of black beans were so salty that I could only eat half of them. For about $20 I got aq weak margarita, a tiny taco and a side of almost inedible black beans. It was the worst $20 I have spent on food in a very long time. I would suggest avoiding this place.

Love the food. My faves were: shrimp torta, chile rellenos, shrimp salad and organic margaritas
