From The Owner of Peasant Bistro

The Peasant family's downtown nosh overlooks Centennial Park and dishes out traditional bistro faves with a heavy French touch.

the best mussels ever and try the cookies and shake dessert. Peasant Bistro just opened a week ago yet you'd never guess it. The space is beautifully designed and spacious. If you're lucky, you can sit in the window and view Centennial Park. The menu is truly bistro food with a lot of French influence like mussels au nage and coq au vin. I had the lamb chops and they were tender and cooked just as I ordered (medium rare). Our table also enjoyed the sides (which at $5 seems like a steal); brussels sprouts, mac and cheese, cheese bread pudding were some favorites and the Caesar salad is the best I ever had; the romaine is grilled, which makes it very different than your basic Caesar. I have traveled to Morocco and can say the lamb tagine is also very authentic. Another app we loved is the duck confit that came with a fig cake on the side. We weren't going to have dessert but couldn't pass up the ginger panna cotta and I'd go back just to have the cookies and shake dessert. The service is really good, especially for such a new place; everyone is on their best behavior. Go soon! It's just on Centennial Park near the Aquarium.
