The Scene – Situated on the second story of the newly renovated historic Ellis Hotel the dining room offers a quiet retreat, and a fetching alternative to some of Atlanta's buzzier dining scenes. Warm, creamy tones in the fabric and furnishings contrast with the mahogany woods and silver accents. The extravagant oval chandelier and arched windows pair well with the sleek minimalist decor. Bar seating is intimate and a trifle snug, but it's an ideal place to unwind with a glass of wine and a nibble. – – The Food – Although the menu is fairly simple (there are only four…
Excellent food and great service
by AutumnLace
I highly recommend the restaurant at The Ellis Hotel. The new menu and chef are phenomenal...the dish options and tastes are so fresh and delicious. The flavor combination within the recipes is amazing. The service is great too. I will definitely be eating here again and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. I also enjoyed the wine selection. Great restaurant.

2 hours of my life I wil never get back
by findley80
This was the worst dining experience of my life, no exaggeration. We waited to be seated for 45 minutes and when we were sat our waiter was clearly overmatched. We could not get drinks, he would bring one and forget the others, it was awful. Appetizer was very bland. After two hours we were served our entrees and they were cold. We left before desert. When we complainedto the manager, he simply put his hands in the air and said, "what are you gonna do?". I will never go back here, none of the staff know what they are doing and the food is bland, overcooked, and apparently just sits in the back.

Worst experience downtown!!
by nooddle22
This was probably the worst experience we've had at a restaraunt in Atlanta!!! We were there for almost three hours and still did not get our dessert, even though there was only one other table of people at that point. There were only two servers for Saturday evening dinner during restaraunt week. It was very hard for us to get drinks, the people next to us just went to the bar to get their drinks. When the entree finally came out, the salmon was burnt to a crisp on one side. The mashed potatoes tasted like they were from a box and the portions were tiny. We were served drinks with dirty glasses (lipstick on the rim) and so was the table next to us. We got up and left before dessert even came and so did the table of strangers next to us. I would NEVER go there again.
- Cons: Bad service, Bad food, dirty glasses, overpriced
The Details on E. Street Grille
Where to Sit:
The dining room is ideal for date night; ask for the two-seater under the window. If you just want a small bite and a drink aim for the groovy seats in the lounge. The patio is nice but may be noisy from street traffic.
Know Before You Go:
The valet is hard to see, it's located on Ellis Street, not on Peachtree and it costs $10. Save $5 and just park in the garage a block away.
