I normally visit a Dominican salon in N. Atlanta but was craving a different experience and I needed a relaxer. I can't remember what brought me to Metro Salon Studios but I am glad I found it. We can't just turn our hair over to anyone, so I was a little nervous but Melissa is the sweetest and the owner Javonna (hope I am spelling it right) is involved and greeted me several times. the shop itself is CLEAN and well kept. Everything was organized and in place. I was, several times offered a beverage and finally gave in to the delicious scent of home made red beans and rice while I was waiting. :) Dominican salons are in and out, go go go, but little atmosphere and ambiance. This shop was quite the opposite. I felt like I was visiting old friends. I have never had a Phyto relaxer, NOR have I had the steam conditioner. BOTH were big hits with me. My stylist, Damien, once he got a a hold of me, was all business. And when I say he did my hair, he DID. My HAIR.I have never seen anyone wield a flat iron like him. My hair is shiny, bouncy, and full of life. That is rare for me, post relaxer. It's usually limp for at least 2 weeks. Of course I did have 2 drawbacks. First, the service was pretty slow. I had an 11:30 appt and at 1pm I still did not have a relaxer in my hair. Several people stepped in to complete steps, seems like they could have used one more stylist, or maybe one was out. I think I was headed home around 5pm which, even with a relaxer, is too much time in the salon. Second, that shampoo bow/chair combo and I did NOT get along. At all! That said, a good salon is hard to find, so I will definitely be back and was told a dessert bar is going in next door!!!

Pros: BEAUTIFUL salon, very clean, well kept, VERY friendly staff

Cons: That darn shampoo bowl and chair, slow service

This salon is great. I decided to try something new since I was in town from New York. I love the fact that they use a steamer for conditioners, and there I was sipping on my sangria not having a care in the world!I went to Noami( she is from new york), mainly beause I wanted my hair roller set and blown out (dominican style). She was nice and knowledgeable. She cut my ends and did a fabulous job. Usually in new york, I go to supercuts to get my ends trimmed, and was apprehensive about letting her cut it. Finally a stylist that an do hair and cut it in a great style. I will be back when I move back to Atlanta!

Pros: Price, hair cut
