Want the best? Come to Niko Niko.

I have been eating sushi for past 20 years. I have traveled all around the world and tried many different Sushi restaurants. The quality of sushi in Niko Niko is same or superior than the sushi that I paid $150 to have in Korea. The master skills of Mr. Lee is just out of this world. If you see how the Sushi is sitting on the plate, you could tell the skill level of the sushi chef. Trust me.. The sushi made by Mr. Lee is just simply perfect. Angle, style, amount of rice... Sometimes he gives me too much fish and tells me to cut the fish in half and eat. Rolls? You might go crazy just looking at all the selection that this place has. Never mind of all these words and just go and try it for yourselves. I am going there right now!
- Pros: Best Sushi
- Cons: None
Best Sushi I've Ever Had
by photojenic
We gave this place a try due to seeing several other good reviews. Boy, they were right! By far the best sushi I have ever had. It was simply amazing food. The restaurant itself is very simple in decoration/design, but do not let this give you any misconceptions. The food and service were simply superb. I will definitely return time and time again.
- Pros: Amazing food, very courteous staff, quick service
- Cons: none
Very Fresh - Our New Favorite Sushi Place
by EricTheS
I'm a traditional sashimi and sushi guy (no fancy rolls) and my spouse's tastes are more eclectic - exotic salads and veggie dishes. Niko Niko has it all, with a traditional sushi bar and lots of tables out front. The sashimi and sushi here is wonderful - equal to Washington DC resto's I eat at in my business travel.
The miso soup is excellent - perfectly balanced and light, and their salads (either veggie or seafood-based) are real delights, with very creative dressings.
Here are a few of our fave Niko Niko dishes: Toro (fatty tuna) sashimi - a melt-in-your-mouth indulgence for the special occasion (my wife's "new new" favorite!); Uni (sea urchin) sushi with quail egg (my personal fave); Hamachi (yellowtail) sashimi - smooth and beautimous; and even the humble Unagi (cooked eel) sushi is the best I've ever tasted.
The gracious Mr. Lee rules the sushi area with a sharp eye to perfection, as you might notice if you sit at the bar, watching the magic happen. His staff really hop when he gives them "input" - all to the diner's advantage. And, one lunchtime he treated me to a tempura Uni - something Mr. Traditional (me) would have recoiled at. But it was superb!
The seafood at Niko Niko has always been scrupulously fresh on our visits - my most sushi important criterion. Also, Mr. Lee creates astounding-looking dishes, that taste as good as they look. The menu of sushi rolls is staggering - many customers have designed their own amazing rolls, and you can customize your own, too.
The wait staff is courteous and competent, and the Niko Niko's ambiance is clean, friendly and focused on fine food without a lot of frills - just like my Lovely Bride and I like it! We think it's a romantic destination - even with lots of families dining too. Hey, this review is making me hungry . Niko Niko again tonight!
Prices: if we splurge, the two of us can get out the door for $75 - our usual bill is about $45.00 including tip.
- Pros: Absolutely fresh seafood; very creative dishes; wheelchair access
