Great coffee...need I say more?. We are shopping for coffee shops for my building and we struck out one Saturday morning in hopes of trying a coffee shop in Midtown. Even though they told me they were open seven days a week (and their website said the same thing) - they weren't.

Here is the equation: Me - a great cup of coffee in the morning = Terror!

We decided to head to Decatur - of course we could find a coffee shop there. Well, we did - Dancing Goat.

I had heard of Dancing Goat on NPR and tried to find them (awhile back) but the link did not work so I forgot about them.

We parked and headed in. Coffee, coffee and oh, more coffee. I couldn't decided what I wanted (as evidenced by the three bags of coffee I brought home). The manager helped me make my decision - and I watched a lovely gentleman use this special technology to brew my coffee. I watched in amazement as he poured, stirred and squeegeed my brew. The result was a pure cup of coffee - no acidity, no bitterness just fresh taste.

I tried the black bean hummus, a quiche and a savory scone - all of which were delicious.

Dancing Goat is a "green" and I love it. Everything is neatly arranged and explained.

It was a great experience.

Their first coffee bar in ATL, is in the gathering of Decatur Square. Their east coast roaster/distributor is off Howell Mill Rd. This is no run of the mill generic coffee bar, like the big "S". Their signature premium blend is "Dancing Goats". It combines a floral aroma with an exceptionally clean acidity and a heavy nutty body. One of their organic coffee's is Ethiopia Yircacheffe. It has floral notes of lavender and lemon custard and is interwined with the sugary sweetness of fresh peach. We were so taken back by the barrista, who explained all the specialty blends. But what sets this roaster apart, whatever you want a cup of, whether it's already made or not, just tell them what you want. A fresh scoop, of your choice, is freshly brewed by the cup on the spot. The Decatur crowd has already taken to Dancing Goats, and the laptops are all plugged in, with the free Wi-Fi Service. Nice relaxing sofa's, with lots of Euro mag's to look thru! Deluxe-Five Stars!
