Three times you're out!.
Living in the Old 4th Ward I try to support the neighborhood businesses. However, I withdraw my support from this business.
These women have no sense of customer service.
I tried to give Across the Street the opportunity over time to redeem themselves but each time it was the same story but a different day. We waited almost an hour for our food and each time complained to the owner about this issue. Only to be apologized to and offered alcohol to appease us. (Mind you this is against the law to do) these women are RUDE and condescending and shouldn't be in the service industry.
If you have all the time in the world to wait to be served and then wait even longer for your food only to have it arrive cold.... this is your place!
Don't waste your time head down the street to Pure in Inman park were they understand what customer services is all about and the food is great.

40 SCORE on their MAY 11th 2011 HEALTH INSPECTION.
I am from Mexico and ever since this place opened I have been trying to like it.... I really have.
The first two times we went to eat, the carnitas were undercooked and the beans bland. I attributed the problem to them being new. We told the manager back then about my thoughts.
Last night I was there with my Fiancee and it was a HORRIBLE experience. To start with, the salsa was feremented... it was fizzy. We told our waitress who brought out a second jar that was just as bad.
I ordered the tostadas and asked for chicken and avocado to be added to them. There was no avocado as I was informed you all were out. I can understand this. The lettuce on the tostadas though was BAD. It smelled like it was either frozen or refrigerated for a really long time and it had turned. I asked our waitress to take it back to the kitchen and have the manager and chef smell and taste it... this is totally unacceptable.
Finally, my fiancee ordered a side carnitas taco on corn tortilla since she is gluten sensitive. First we got a complete order of carnitas instead of the one taco. Then, when we notified them of the problem, they brought out one carnitas taco on a FLOUR tortilla. The waitress then took it back and brought it out in a corn tortilla but the meat was absolutely nasty. No moist, well seasoned cubes... it was dry and deep fried nasty-ness.
Our waitress then gave us a "credit for the extra chicken on my tostadas for the snafoo"... honestly, this whole meal should have been on the house. Trust me, it is not the money... it was my company that paid... it is the principle.
We live in the neighborhood and really want this place to be awesome but quite frankly, at this rate, they are going to end up making some one very sick.
I URGED them to check their quality control and get this fixed.
They got a 40 on their most recent health inspection. Look up the food inspection report for them at the Georgia State Government website.

Great find.
We have visited other restaurants in the neighborhood and driven past this place a few times but never bothered to go in until this past Sunday.
We noticed a couple of tables on the side but were pleasantly surprised to find that great patio in the back!
They gave us their "brunch" menu which was ok but not what we were looking for. Nicole, our waitress, saw our hesitation and quickly offered their regular menu. Some of their dishes are not typical "Mexican" which was great to see.
I tried a variety of their taco's and my wife had the chicken quesadilla. All were fantastic! My wife NEVER eats leftovers but she took the quesadillas home and had them the next day. So whether you have the more traditional dishes or try something not so traditional; you won't be disappointed!
Food, atmosphere and service all were great! Ask for Nicole, she'll take great care of you.

Service? What service?.
We took our out of town guests for dinner last Saturday evening. I ordered their Chicken Enchiladas. It is apparent the cook does not know how to cook Enchiladas.It was nothing like the description in their menu. To make things worse, I sent it back to be prepared the way I wanted it or as it was described in their menu. Guess what? The waitress never bothered to follow up with the cook because I did not get my meal even when everyone else at my table had finished eating. So I brown bagged it, only to find out at home that the waitress just wrapped the same old dish I had send back!
So, what's good at this place? I liked their salsa. The pitcher of margarita made the evening slide by quickly.
Service - lousy. Food - poor to bad, courtesy of the staff - miserably fails. Moral of the story: if you go there get loaded on the margarita, chips-n-salsa so that you won't notice the poorly prepared food or unacceptably lousy service.

Great food - even eating Gluten Free!. I can't eat gluten and called ahead to see if this was a place I could eat. The manager I spoke to was very knowledgeable and assured me there was plenty I could eat. I spoke to my server as soon as we sat down (on the awesome patio!) and she consulted with the kitchen. Almost the entire menu was available to me (with only a substitution here or there). I had a chicken taco and a pork taco with corn tortillas and loved it! I have already been back and will continue to frequent this great spot. The service was excellent and the food was ever better!

Great Place !. What a gem ! This is exactly the kind of place i want to come back to. The food is not your run of the mill Mexican. The owners have somehow managed to infuse some creativity into the dishes I love.....I highly reccomend..the chilequeles (sp?), as the mole sauce in this dish is outstanding..(I didn't like Mole sauce b4 this dish)......The bar rocks too ! Love me some Tequelia, and the bartender , Sam serves it up right ! Great food,great atmosphere, and a great bartender (Sam) will make the extra long run I need worth it !

Best Fish Tacos Hands Down !!!. They have the BEST fish tacos in town, and I am very picky. By the way, the beers are 3 bucks and THAT is a deal. Great place to hang out, patio is super.

GREAT PATIO !. I just love this new place I found with friends... came with a large group and they didn't bat an eye and were really attentive and friendly ! We shared serveral entrees and had a couple of pitchers of margaritas. The food was great and staff extremely helpful !

Great Margaritas and Service. Went to Across The Street on Friday night and had a great time. Samantha makes the best margaritas. The food was very good. Will definitely go back.
