I am very impressed with the menu selection and likeness to Ruby Tuesday, and it is just as nice without being pretentious and busy. FATZ CAFE has a very relaxing atmosphere, understated by the name of the restaurant itself. The buzzer system to summon servers to the table is a really awesome idea, but our server was so attentive, we only buzzed it once just to see how it worked. The atmosphere and food delivered satisfaction to our expectations. We split the ribs, and they were great. Tara Newsome, the Assistant Service Manager, came by to introduce herself and gave us a copy of the menu and tailgate menu. She was very nice and helpful! The only thing that I disliked was the drink that I ordered. Mojitos are made with crushed mint, and this drink had one tiny fleck of mint. When I requested mint so that I could float it in my drink, the server told me that the bartender told her that they were out of mint, and the last of it had been used and strained when my drink was made. The other drinks use mint as a garnish, so why does this restaurant not have more mint on hand, especially for Mojitos? I do realize that it may not be a FATZ specification for mint to be left in the glass, but there is no picture of the Mojito on the drink menu. Mojitos usually come with mint in the glass! This made the Mojito taste and look like a sugary margarita. The drink was strong enough, but did not taste like a Mojito without the mint. If the bar would have put mint in the drink like it should be, this restaurant would have got a five star rating from me. Service bar is just as important as if I was sitting at the bar top itself! Great food is even better with a great drink, and I was disappointed with the Mojito at Fatz Cafe. Other than this, Fatz Cafe is one of the best restaurants in Athens, and I believe they could be the best if the bar improved.
